Abstract

Compositions and methods of detecting Borrelia proteins, nucleic acid sequences encoding these proteins, and subject antibodies to these proteins in a sample are disclosed.

Claims (3)

1. A method of detecting exposure of a patient to Borrelia burgdorferi using a patient sample comprising:

a) contacting a patient sample with a BB0279 (FLiL) protein, wherein said BB0279 protein has an amino acid sequence shown in SEQ ID NO:218 capable of binding a BB0279 patient antibody, and

b) detecting the presence or absence of said BB0279 patient antibody in said sample based on binding, or lack thereof, of said BB0279 protein to said BB0279 patient antibody, thereby detecting exposure of said patient to Borrelia burgdorferi.
