Abstract

The invention relates to new polypeptides in isolated form belonging to a subfamily of the human immunoglobulin superfamily, which polypeptide shows at least 70% sequence homology with the amino acid sequence of the murine Confluency Regulated Adhesion Molecules 1 or 2 (CRAM-1 or CRAM-2) as depicted in FIG. 3 , upper and second row, respectively, and antibodies thereto as well as their use in treatment of inflammation and tumors.

Claims (13)

1. An isolated antibody that binds to a polypeptide comprising:

a) SEQ ID NO: 13; or

b) amino acids 1-291 of SEQ ID NO: 13.

2. An isolated monoclonal antibody produced by a hybridoma selected from CRAM-19H36 (CNCM I-4471), CRAM-17D33 (ECACC 06092701) or CRAM-18F26 (CNCM I-4470).

3. A hybridoma selected from CRAM-19H36 (CNCM I-4471), CRAM-17D33 (ECACC 06092701) or CRAM-18F26 (CNCM I-4470).

4. The isolated monoclonal antibody according to claim 2 , wherein said antibody is produced by the hybridoma CRAM-19H36 (CNCM I-4471).

5. The isolated monoclonal antibody according to claim 2 , wherein said antibody is produced by the hybridoma CRAM-18F26 (CNCM I-4470).

6. The hybridoma according to claim 3 , wherein said hybridoma is CRAM-19H36 (CNCM I-4471).

7. The hybridoma according to claim 3 , wherein said hybridoma is CRAM-18F26 (CNCM I-4470).

8. A method of making an antibody according to claim 2 comprising culturing a hybridoma secreting an antibody under conditions that allow for the production of said antibody.

9. The method according to claim 8 , wherein said hybridoma is CRAM-19H36 (CNCM I-4471), CRAM-17D33 (ECACC 06092701) or CRAM-18F26 (CNCM I-4470).

10. The isolated monoclonal antibody according to claim 2 , wherein said monoclonal antibody is produced by the hybridoma CRAM-17D33 (ECACC 06092701).

11. The hybridoma according to claim 3 , wherein said hybridoma is CRAM-17D33 (ECACC 06092701).
