Compositions and methods for controlling nematodes
Compositions and processes for controlling nematodes are described herein, e.g., nematodes that infest plants or animals. The compounds include oxazoles, oxadiazoles and thiadiazoles.
1. A compound having Formula Ia or a salt thereof,
wherein,
R 1 and R 5 are independently selected from hydrogen, CH 3 , OCH 3 , F, Cl, Br, CF 3 and OCF 3 ;
R 2 and R 4 are independently selected from hydrogen, F, Cl, Br, CH 3 , and CF 3;
R 3 is selected from hydrogen, CH 3 , CF 3 , F, Cl, Br, OCF 3 , OCH 3 , CN, and CO;
R 6 , R 7 , R 8 and R 9 are independently selected from hydrogen, CH 3 , alkyl, cykloalkyl, heterocyl, and halogen;
B is C(H) or C(CH 3 ); and
X is a bond, CH 2 , O or S.
2. The compound of claim 1 wherein X is a bond.
3. The compound of claim 1 wherein is CH 2 , O or S.
4. The compound of claim 3 wherein X is CH 2 .
5. The compound of claim 3 wherein X is O.
6. The compound of claim 3 wherein X is S.
7. The compound of claim 1 wherein R 6 , R 7 , R 8 and R 9 are independently selected from hydrogen, C1-C10 alkyl, and halogen.
8. A composition comprising a compound of claim 1 at a concentration sufficient to reduce the viability of a parasitic nematode.
9. The composition of claim 8 wherein the composition comprises a surfactant.
10. The composition of claim 8 wherein the composition comprises one or more of: a fungicide, a herbicide, and a pesticide.
11. The composition of claim 8 wherein the composition comprises a co-solvent.
