EXOTHYLATE-FREE PERSONAL CARE CLEANSING COMPOSITIONS
Provided are personal care cleansing compositions that are substantially ethoxylate free, especially a personal care composition, comprising: hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose having a hydroxypropyl MS of about 0.8 or greater and a methoxyl DS of about 2 or greater; and an alkyl polyglycoside surfactant.
1 . A personal care composition, comprising:
hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose having a hydroxypropyl MS of about 0.8 or greater and a methoxyl DS of about 2 or greater; and
an alkyl polyglycoside surfactant.
2 . The personal care composition of claim 1 , wherein the alkyl polyglycoside is an alkyl polyglucoside.
3 . The personal care composition of claim 1 , wherein the composition is substantially ethoxylate-free.
4 . The personal care composition of claim 1 , wherein the composition is substantially free of sodium laureth sulfate.
5 . The personal care composition of claim 1 , wherein the viscosity of the composition is greater than about 900 cps.
6 . The personal care composition of claim 1 , wherein the viscosity of the composition is greater than about 1000 cps.
7 . The personal care composition of claim 1 , wherein the composition has a haze value of 10 or less.
8 . The personal care composition of claim 1 , wherein the composition is in a single phase.
9 . The personal care composition of claim 1 , wherein the hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose is present in a range greater than about 0.2% by weight of the composition and less than about 1.5% by weight of the composition.
10 . The personal care composition of claim 1 , wherein the hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose is present in a range from about 0.2% to about 0.9% by weight of the composition.
11 . The personal care composition of claim 1 , wherein the hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose is present in a range from about 0.3% to about 0.6% by weight of the composition.
12 . The personal care composition of claim 1 , wherein the alkyl polyglycoside is a C8-C16 fatty alcohol glucoside.
13 . The personal care composition of claim 1 , wherein the surfactant is present in a range from about 5% to about 25% by weight of the composition.
14 . The personal care composition of claim 1 , further comprising cocamidopropyl betaine as a co-surfactant.
15 . The personal care composition of claim 14 , wherein the surfactant mixture is present in a range from about 5% to about 25% by weight of the composition.
16 . The personal care composition of claim 14 , wherein the surfactant mixture is present in a range from about 9% to about 15% by weight of the composition.
17 . The personal care composition of claim 14 , wherein the surfactant mixture is present in a range from about 9% to about 10% by weight of the composition.
18 . The personal care composition of claim 14 , wherein the surfactant mixture is present in a range from about 9.5% to about 24% by weight of the composition.
19 . The personal care composition of claim 14 , wherein the surfactant mixture is present in a range from about 20% to about 25% by weight of the composition.
20 . The personal care composition of claim 14 , wherein the hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose is present in a range from about 0.3% to about 0.6% by weight of the composition.
