Abstract

Isolated nucleic acid comprising a nucleotide sequence that codes for a mutant mammalian Nav1 protein are disclosed.

Claims (1)

1. An isolated nucleic acid comprising a nucleotide sequence that codes for a mutant mammalian Nav1 protein, said mutant protein comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 11, except that the amino acid at position 21 of mutant Nav1.7 differs from the amino acid in wild-type Nav1.7 by substitution with tryptophan, phenylalanine, tyrosine or cysteine.
