Abstract
Compounds of formula (I): in which R 1 , R 2 , R 3 , R 3′ , R 4 , R 5 , R 6 , R 6′ , R 7 , R 8 , R 9 , R 10 , R 11 , R 12 , R 13 , R 14 , R 15 , R 16 , R 17 , A, D, X, Y, and Z are defined in the specification. Also disclosed is a method of using one of the compounds to lower the blood cholesterol level and treat cancer, atherosclerosis, diabetes, Alzheimer's disease, and corneal arcus.
