Abstract

A tiller with a removable tine rotor is provided. The tiller comprises a cavity formed by a top deck and end plates. The end plates comprise rotating spindles rotatably attached to the end plates. A gearbox translates rotation from a tractor to one of the rotating spindles. A tine rotor extends between the spindles and rotates to till soil. The tine rotor is releasably connected to the spindles within the cavity, such that the tine rotor is removable from the tiller without disassembly of the end plates.

Claims (23)

1. A tiller comprising:

a power take-off (PTO) shaft;

a gearbox for receiving and translating rotational movement from the PTO shaft;

a first side and a second side, wherein the first and second sides form a space therebetween;

a first spindle rotatably connected to the first side within the space;

a second spindle rotatably connected to the second side within the space;

a tine rotor releasably attached to and extending between the first spindle and the second spindle within the space, wherein the first and second spindles each comprise a plurality of openings for receiving fasteners.

2. A tiller comprising:

a power take-off (PTO) shaft;

a gearbox for receiving and translating rotational movement from the PTO shaft;

a first side and a second side, wherein the first and second sides form a space therebetween;

a first spindle rotatably connected to the first side within the space;

a second spindle rotatably connected to the second side within the space;

a tine rotor releasably attached to and extending between the first spindle and the second spindle within the space, wherein the tine rotor comprises openings alignable with the openings of the first or second spindles, for releasable connection of the spindles to the tine rotor.

3. A tiller, comprising:

a first end plate having a first inside surface;

a second end plate having a second inside surface;

a first spindle rotatably coupled to the first inside surface;

a second spindle rotatably coupled to the second inside surface;

a tine rotor releasably coupled to the first spindle and the second spindle between the first end plate and the second end plate;

a first disc coupled to a first end of the tine rotor; and

a second disc coupled to a second end of the tine rotor,

wherein the first disc is releasably coupled to the first spindle and the second disc is releasably coupled to the second spindle.
