Abstract

The invention provides composition and methods for repairing a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.

Claims (52)

1 . A scaffold for repair of a tissue defect in comprising a three-dimensional matrix adapted to facilitate cell in-growth, wherein said matrix is shaped for implantation into a patient at the site of the tissue defect, wherein said matrix comprises a natural matrix material wherein the natural matrix material is a collagen glycosaminoglycan copolymer comprised of collagen type I, and wherein said scaffold further comprises plasma.

2 . The scaffold according to claim 1 , wherein said tissue defect is extra-articular.

3 . The scaffold according to claim 1 , wherein said tissue defect is intra-articular.

4 . The scaffold according to claim 1 , wherein said tissue defect comprises a ligament.

5 . The scaffold according to claim 1 , wherein said tissue defect comprises a tendon.

6 . The scaffold according to claim 1 , wherein said tissue defect comprises bone.

7 . The scaffold according to claim 1 , wherein said tissue defect comprises cartilage.

8 . The scaffold according to claim 1 , wherein said tissue defect is bridged with natural or synthetic graft tissue or patch

9 . The scaffold according to claim 1 , wherein said tissue defect is a partial or complete tear of a ligament.

10 . The scaffold according to claim 1 , wherein said tissue defect is a partial or complete tear of an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).

11 . The scaffold according to claim 1 , wherein said tissue defect is a partial or complete tear of the rotator cuff.

12 . The scaffold according to claim 1 , wherein said tissue defect is a partial or complete tear of the labrum.

13 . The scaffold according to claim 1 , wherein said tissue defect is a partial or complete tear of the meniscus.

14 . A scaffold for repair of a tissue defect in comprising a three-dimensional matrix adapted to facilitate cell in-growth, wherein said matrix is shaped for implantation into a patient at the site of the tissue defect, wherein said matrix comprises a natural matrix material wherein the natural matrix material is a collagen glycosaminoglycan copolymer comprised of collagen type I, and wherein said scaffold further comprises a platelet.

15 . The scaffold according to claim 14 , wherein said tissue defect is extra-articular.

16 . The scaffold according to claim 14 , wherein said tissue defect is intra-articular.

17 . The scaffold according to claim 14 , wherein said tissue defect comprises a ligament.

18 . The scaffold according to claim 14 , wherein said tissue defect comprises a tendon.

19 . The scaffold according to claim 14 , wherein said tissue defect comprises bone.

20 . The scaffold according to claim 14 , wherein said tissue defect comprises cartilage.

21 . The scaffold according to claim 14 , wherein said tissue defect is bridged with natural or synthetic graft tissue or patch

22 . The scaffold according to claim 14 , wherein said tissue defect is a partial or complete tear of a ligament.

23 . The scaffold according to claim 14 , wherein said tissue defect is a partial or complete tear of an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).

24 . The scaffold according to claim 14 , wherein said tissue defect is a partial or complete tear of the rotator cuff.

25 . The scaffold according to claim 14 , wherein said tissue defect is a partial or complete tear of the labrum.

26 . The scaffold according to claim 14 , wherein said tissue defect is a partial or complete tear of the meniscus.

A scaffold for repair of a tissue defect in comprising a three-dimensional matrix adapted to facilitate cell in-growth, wherein said matrix is shaped for implantation into a patient at the site of the tissue defect, wherein said matrix comprises a natural matrix material wherein the natural matrix material is a collagen glycosaminoglycan copolymer comprised of collagen type I, and wherein said scaffold further comprises a neutralizing agent.

28 . The scaffold according to claim 27 , wherein said tissue defect is extra-articular.

29 . The scaffold according to claim 27 , wherein said tissue defect is intra-articular.

30 . The scaffold according to claim 27 , wherein said tissue defect comprises a ligament.

31 . The scaffold according to claim 27 , wherein said tissue defect comprises a tendon.

32 . The scaffold according to claim 27 , wherein said tissue defect comprises bone.

33 . The scaffold according to claim 27 , wherein said tissue defect comprises cartilage.

34 . The scaffold according to claim 27 , wherein said tissue defect is bridged with natural or synthetic graft tissue or patch

35 . The scaffold according to claim 27 , wherein said tissue defect is a partial or complete tear of a ligament.

36 . The scaffold according to claim 27 , wherein said tissue defect is a partial or complete tear of an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).

37 . The scaffold according to claim 27 , wherein said tissue defect is a partial or complete tear of the rotator cuff.

38 . The scaffold according to claim 27 , wherein said tissue defect is a partial or complete tear of the labrum.

39 . The scaffold according to claim 27 , wherein said tissue defect is a partial or complete tear of the meniscus.

A scaffold for repair of a tissue defect in comprising a three-dimensional matrix adapted to facilitate cell in-growth, wherein said matrix is shaped for implantation into a patient at the site of the tissue defect, wherein said matrix comprises a natural matrix material wherein the natural matrix material is a collagen glycosaminoglycan copolymer comprised of neutralized soluble type I collagen gel.

41 . The scaffold according to claim 40 , wherein said tissue defect is extra-articular.

42 . The scaffold according to claim 40 , wherein said tissue defect is intra-articular.

43 . The scaffold according to claim 40 , wherein said tissue defect comprises a ligament.

44 . The scaffold according to claim 40 , wherein said tissue defect comprises a tendon.

45 . The scaffold according to claim 40 , wherein said tissue defect comprises bone.

46 . The scaffold according to claim 40 , wherein said tissue defect comprises cartilage.

47 . The scaffold according to claim 40 , wherein said tissue defect is bridged with natural or synthetic graft tissue or patch

48 . The scaffold according to claim 40 , wherein said tissue defect is a partial or complete tear of a ligament.

49 . The scaffold according to claim 40 , wherein said tissue defect is a partial or complete tear of an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).
