Abstract

The invention provides isolated nucleic acid and amino acid sequences of sensory cell specific G-protein coupled receptors, antibodies to such receptors, methods of detecting such nucleic acids and receptors, and methods of screening for modulators of sensory cell specific G-protein coupled receptors.

Claims (10)

1. An isolated nucleic acid encoding a chimeric sensory receptor comprising the extracellular region of an amino acid sequence having at least 95% identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:1 or 2 and the transmembrane region of a different G protein coupled receptor.

2. The isolated nucleic acid of claim 1 , encoding a chimeric sensory receptor comprising the extracellular region of an amino acid sequence having at least 95% identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:1.

3. The isolated nucleic acid of claim 1 , encoding a chimeric sensory receptor comprising the extracellular region of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:1.

4. The isolated nucleic acid of claim 1 , encoding a chimeric sensory receptor comprising the extracellular region of an amino acid sequence having at least 95% identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2.

5. The isolated nucleic acid of claim 1 , encoding a chimeric sensory receptor comprising the extracellular region of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2.

6. An isolated nucleic acid encoding a chimeric sensory receptor comprising the transmembrane region of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:1 or 2 and the extracellular region of a different G protein coupled receptor.

7. The isolated nucleic acid of claim 5 , encoding a chimeric sensory receptor comprising the transmembrane region of an amino acid sequence having at least 95% identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:1.

8. The isolated nucleic acid of claim 5 , encoding a chimeric sensory receptor comprising the transmembrane region of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:1.

9. The isolated nucleic acid of claim 5 , encoding a chimeric sensory receptor comprising the transmembrane region of an amino acid sequence having at least 95% identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2.

10. The isolated nucleic acid of claim 5 , encoding a chimeric sensory receptor comprising the transmembrane region of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2.
