Combined proprietary and universal mobile barcode reader
A method of presenting content to viewers in a computer network environment which includes scanning a barcode ( 10 ) with a mobile device ( 100 ), retrieving content ( 130 ) directly associated with the barcode ( 10 ), and retrieving associated proprietary content ( 214 ). The dual content is then separately displayed on said mobile device ( 100 ).
1 . A method for presenting a plurality of content on a mobile device in a computer network environment, the method comprising:
a. reading a barcode;
b. accessing a data storage file with said barcode, said data storage file comprising a pre-existing link between said barcode and a pairing of content with instructions;
c. extracting said pairing of content with instructions as a function of said barcode;
d. displaying the extracted content;
e. using said barcode to establish communication with a second remote computer;
f. displaying the content of said second remote computer.
2 . A method of claim 1 , wherein said barcode's encoding comprises a Universal Resource Locator.
3 . A method of claim 1 , wherein said barcode's encoding comprises an index.
4 . A method of claim 1 , wherein said data storage file comprises a list.
5 . A method of claim 1 , wherein said data storage file comprises a database.
6 . A method for presenting a plurality of content on a mobile device in a computer network environment, the method comprising:
a. capturing a barcode with said mobile device;
b. decoding said barcode into an alphanumeric string on said mobile device;
c. transmitting, from said mobile device, said alphanumeric string to a code management platform on said computer network·environment;
d. at said code management platform, determining said alphanumeric string is not located in said code management platform;
e. as a function of said alphanumeric string, extracting a Universal Resource Locator and returning instructions to load said Universal Resource Locator to said mobile device;
f. as a function of said alphanumeric string, forwarding a pairing of content with instructions to display a separate message on said mobile device.
7 . A method of claim 6 , wherein said code management platform comprises a plurality of computers.
8 . A method of claim 6 , wherein said code management platform comprises one computer.
9 . A method for presenting a plurality of content on a mobile device in a computer network environment, the method comprising:
a. Capturing a barcode with said mobile device;
b. decoding said barcode into an alphanumeric string on said mobile device;
c. transmitting, from said mobile device, said alphanumeric string to a code management platform on said computer network environment;
d. at said code management platform, determining said alphanumeric string is located in said code management platform;
e. as a function of said alphanumeric string, forwarding a pairing of content with instructions to load a separate message on said mobile device.
f. A method of claim 9 , wherein said code management platform comprises a plurality of computers.
g. A method of claim 9 , wherein said code management platform comprises one computer.
h. A method of claim 9 , wherein said barcode encoding comprises an index.
i. A method of claim 9 , wherein said barcode encoding comprises a Universal Resource Locator.
