Abstract

A driving assist device includes a first control portion that controls a vehicle to carry out automated driving, and a second control portion that controls the vehicle to make a shift to manual driving, in which the vehicle travels on a basis of an driving operation by a driver, when canceling the automated driving, and changes a manner of canceling the automated driving in accordance with an elapsed time from a start of the automated driving.

Claims (26)

1. A driving assist device comprising:

a first control portion that controls a vehicle to carry out automated driving; and

a second control portion that controls the vehicle to make a shift to manual driving, in which the vehicle travels on a basis of an driving operation by a driver, when canceling the automated driving, and changes a manner of canceling the automated driving in accordance with an elapsed time from a start of the automated driving, wherein

the second control portion cancels the automated driving when a first cancellation requirement is fulfilled before a predetermined time is elapsed from the start of the automated driving, and cancels the automated driving when a second cancellation requirement is fulfilled after the predetermined time is elapsed,

the second control portion cancels the automated driving of the vehicle in response to a cancellation operation by the driver, and

the second cancellation requirement is larger in number of times of the cancellation operation than the first cancellation requirement.

2. The driving assist device according to claim 1 , wherein the second control portion sets the manner of canceling the automated driving to the first cancellation requirement in a case where a driving state of the vehicle at the start of the automated driving is deviant from a predetermined driving state.

3. The driving assist device according to claim 2 , wherein

the first control portion controls the vehicle so that a driving state of the vehicle during the automated driving is consistent with the predetermined driving state.

4. The driving assist device according to claim 3 , wherein

the predetermined driving state relates to at least one of a traffic lane on which the vehicle travels, a traveling speed of the vehicle, and a distance between the vehicle and a preceding vehicle.

5. The driving assist device according to claim 1 , further comprising a notification portion that notify a driving mode that is different between different manners of canceling automated driving.

6. A driving assist device comprising:

a first control portion that controls a vehicle to carry out automated driving; and

a second control portion that controls the vehicle to make a shift to manual driving, in which the vehicle travels on a basis of an driving operation by a driver, when canceling the automated driving, and changes a manner of canceling the automated driving in accordance with an elapsed time from a start of the automated driving; and

an override detection portion that detects an override operation by the driver during the automated driving, wherein

the second control portion cancels the automated driving when a first cancellation requirement is fulfilled before a predetermined time is elapsed from the start of the automated driving, and cancels the automated driving when a second cancellation requirement is fulfilled after the predetermined time is elapsed,

the first cancellation requirement is detection of the override operation, and

the second cancellation requirement is performance of a predetermined cancellation procedure in addition to detection of the override operation.

7. The driving assist device according to claim 6 , wherein the override operation by the driver includes at least one of a steering wheel operation by the driver, accelerator operation by the driver, or brake operation by the driver.

8. The driving assist device according to claim 6 , wherein the second control portion sets the manner of canceling the automated driving to the first cancellation requirement in a case where a driving state of the vehicle at the start of the automated driving is deviant from a predetermined driving state.

9. The driving assist device according to claim 8 , wherein

the first control portion controls the vehicle so that a driving state of the vehicle during the automated driving is consistent with the predetermined driving state.

10. The driving assist device according to claim 9 , wherein

the predetermined driving state relates to at least one of a traffic lane on which the vehicle travels, a traveling speed of the vehicle, and a distance between the vehicle and a preceding vehicle.

11. The driving assist device according to claim 6 , further comprising a notification portion that notify a driving mode that is different between different manners of canceling automated driving.
