Abstract

A rapid, scalable methodology for graphene dispersion with a polymer-organic solvent solution and subsequent solvent exchange, as can be utilized without centrifugation, to enhance graphene concentration.

Claims (6)

1. A method for concentrating a graphene medium, said method comprising:

exfoliating a graphene source material with a medium comprising an organic solvent selected from ethanol and dimethylformamide, and an ethyl cellulose;

contacting at least a portion of said exfoliated graphene medium with a terpineol; and

hydrating said graphene-terpineol medium to concentrate exfoliated graphene in said terpineol.

2. The method of claim 1 wherein said graphene source material is a graphite.

3. The method of claim 1 comprising iterative separation of said graphene-terpineol medium from said organic solvent and contact with another portion of said exfoliated graphene-terpineol medium, to provide a graphene ink composition.
