. The method according to claim 1 , wherein said pharmaceutically acceptable salt is an alkali metal salt of trans-[tetrachlorobis(1H-indazole)ruthenate(III)].

. The method of claim 2 , wherein said alkali metal salt of trans-[tetrachlorobis(1H-indazole)ruthenate(III)] is sodium trans-[tetrachlorobis(1H-indazole)ruthenate(III)].

. A method of treating a refractory pancreatic cancer comprising administering to a patient in need of the treatment a therapeutically effective amount of a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of trans-[tetrachlorobis(1H-indazole)ruthenate(III)].

. The method of claim 4 , wherein said patient is refractory to a treatment comprising one or both of gemcitabine and erlotinib.

. The method of claim 4 , wherein said patient was previously treated with and not responsive to a treatment comprising one or both of gemcitabine and erlotinib.

. The method of claim 4 , wherein said patient has pancreatic cancer relapsing after a previous treatment comprising one or both of gemcitabine and erlotinib.

. The method of claim 4 , wherein said patient previously received a treatment comprising gemcitabine.

. The method according to claim 4 , wherein said patient previously received a treatment comprising erlotinib.

. The method according to claim 2 , wherein said pharmaceutically acceptable salt is an alkali metal salt of trans-[tetrachlorobis(1H-indazole)ruthenate(III)].

. The method of claim 10 , wherein said alkali metal salt of trans-[tetrachlorobis(1H-indazole)ruthenate(III)] is sodium trans-[tetrachlorobis(1H-indazole)ruthenate(III)].
