Abstract

Provided is an organic electroluminescence device having excellent light emission efficiency and durability. Furthermore, provided is an organic electroluminescence device having a low driving voltage, a small change in chromaticity when driving at high luminance, a small change in chromaticity by aging and a small voltage rise by aging. An organic electroluminescence device including a pair of electrodes composed of an anode and a cathode, a light emitting layer between the electrodes and an organic layer which is adjacent to the light emitting layer between the light emitting layer and the cathode, on a substrate, whereto the the light emitting layer contains at least one compound having a carbazole structure and the organic layer adjacent to the light emitting layer contaions at least one hydrocarbon compound having a specific structure.

Claims (70)

1. An organic electroluminescence device, comprising:

a pair of electrodes composed of an anode and a cathode;

a light emitting layer between the electrodes; and

an organic layer which is adjacent to the light emitting layer between the light emitting layer and the cathode, on a substrate,

wherein the light emitting layer comprises at least one compound represented by the following Formula (1), and

the organic layer adjacent to the light emitting layer comprises at least one hydrocarbon compound represented by Formula (Ph-1):

in Formula (1),

R 1 represents an alkyl group, an aryl group or a silyl group, and may further have a substituent Z, provided that R 1 does not represent a carbazolyl group and a perfluoroalkyl group,

in the case where R 1 is present in plurality, each of a plurality of R 1 may be the same or different,

a plurality of R 1 may be bonded to each other to form an aryl ring which may have a substituent Z,

each of R 2 to R 5 independently represents an alkyl group, an aryl group, a silyl group, a cyano group or a fluorine atom, and may further have a substituent Z,

in the case where each of R 2 to R 5 is present in plurality, each of a plurality of R 2 to R 5 may be the same or different,

the substituent Z represents an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, a phenyl group, an aromatic heterocyclic group, an alkoxy group, a phenoxy group, a fluorine atom, a silyl group, an amino group, a cyano group or a group formed by combining these groups, and a plurality of substituents Z may be bonded to each other to form an aryl ring,

n1 represents an integer of 0 to 5,

each of n2 to n5 independently represents an integer of 0 to 4:

in Formula (Ph-1), each of R 12 to R 21 independently represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a phenyl group, a fluorenyl group, a naphthyl group, a triphenylenyl group, a phenanthryl group, or a group formed by combining these groups, provided that there is no case where all of R 12 to R 21 are hydrogen atoms, wherein at least R 13 to R 18 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, and wherein each of R 12 to R 21 may be bonded to each other to form a ring.

2. The organic electroluminescence device according to claim 1 ,

wherein the compound represented by Formula (1) is a compound represented by Formula (2):

in Formula (2), each of R 6 and R 7 independently represents an alkyl group which may have a substituent Z, an aryl group which may have a substituent Z, a cyano group or a fluorine atom,

in the case where each of R 6 and R 7 is present in plurality, each of a plurality of R 6 and each of a plurality of R 7 may be the same or different,

a plurality of R 6 and a plurality of R 7 may be bonded to each other to form an aryl ring which may have a substituent Z,

each of n 6 and n 7 independently represents an integer of 0 to 5,

each of R 8 to R 11 independently represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group which may have a substituent Z, an aryl group which may have a substituent Z, a silyl group which may have a substituent Z, a cyano group or a fluorine atom,

the substituent Z represents an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, a phenyl group, an aromatic heterocyclic group, an alkoxy group, a phenoxy group, a fluorine atom, a silyl group, an amino group, a cyano group or a group formed by combining these groups, and a plurality of substituents Z may be bonded to each other to form an aryl ring.

3. An organic electroluminescence device, comprising:

a pair of electrodes composed of an anode and a cathode;

a light emitting layer between the electrodes; and

an organic layer which is adjacent to the light emitting layer between the light emitting layer and the cathode, on a substrate,

wherein the light emitting layer comprises at least one compound represented by the following Formula (1), and the organic layer adjacent to the light emitting layer comprises at least one hydrocarbon compound represented by Formula (Ph-2):

in Formula (1), R 1 represents an alkyl group, an aryl group or a silyl group, and may further have a substituent Z, provided that R 1 does not represent a carbazolyl group and a perfluoroalkyl group,

in the case where R 1 is present in plurality, each of a plurality of R 1 may be the same or different,

a plurality of R 1 may be bonded to each other to form an aryl ring which may have a substituent Z,

each of R 2 to R 5 independently represents an alkyl group, an aryl group, a silyl group, a cyano group or a fluorine atom, and may further have a substituent Z,

in the case where each of R 2 to R 5 is present in plurality, each of a plurality of R 2 to R 5 may be the same or different,

the substituent Z represents an alkyl group, an aikenyl group, a phenyl group, an aromatic heterocyclic group, an alkoxy group, a phenoxy group, a fluorine atom, a silyl group, an amino group, a cyano group or a group formed by combining these groups, and a plurality of substituents Z may be bonded to each other to form an aryl ring,

n1 represents an integer of 0 to 5,

each of n2 to n5 independently represents an integer of 0 to 4:

in Formula (Ph-2), each of R 22 and R 23 independently represents an alkyl group, a phenyl group, a fluorenyl group, a naphthyl group, a triphenylenyl group, a phenanthryl group, or a group formed by combining these groups,

R 24 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a phenyl group, a fluorenyl group, a naphthyl group, a triphenylenyl group, a phenanthryl group, or a group formed by combining these groups,

each of p and q independently represents 0 to 4,

Ar 1 represents an alkyl group, a phenyl group, a fluorenyl group, a naphthyl group, a triphenylenyl group, a phenanthryl group, or a group formed by combining these groups,

each of a plurality of R 22 and each of a plurality of R 23 may be the same or different,

a plurality of R 22 and a plurality of R 23 may be bonded to each other to form a ring.

4. The organic electroluminescence device according to claim 3 , wherein, in Formula (Ph-2), p and q represent 0, and R 24 represents a hydrogen atom.

5. The organic electroluminescence device according to claim 3 , wherein the compound represented by Formula (Ph-2) is a compound represented by the following Formula (Ph-3):

in Formula (Ph-3), each of R 25 and R 26 independently represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a phenyl group, a fluorenyl group, a naphthyl group, a triphenylenyl group, a phenanthryl group, or a group formed by combining these groups,

each of Ar 2 and Ar 3 independently represents an alkyl group, a phenyl group, a fluorenyl group, a naphthyl group, a triphenylenyl group, a phenanthryl group, or a group formed by combining these groups.

6. The organic electroluminescence device according to claim 5 , wherein, in Formula (Ph-3), R 25 and R 26 are a hydrogen atom.

7. The organic electroluminescence device according to claim 2 ,

wherein the hydrocarbon compound represented by Formula (Ph-1) is the compound represented by Formula (Ph-2) or Formula (Ph-3):

in Formula (Ph-2), each of R 22 and R 23 independently represents an alkyl group, a phenyl group, a fluorenyl group, a naphthyl group, a triphenylenyl group, a phenanthryl group, or a group formed by combining these groups,

R 24 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a phenyl group, a fluorenyl group, a naphthyl group, a triphenylenyl group, a phenanthryl group, or a group formed by combining these groups,

each of p and q independently represents 0 to 4,

Ar 1 represents an alkyl group, a phenyl group, a fluorenyl group, a naphthyl group, a triphenylenyl group, a phenanthryl group, or a group formed by combining these groups,

each of a plurality of R 22 and each of a plurality of R 23 may be the same or different,

a plurality of R 22 and a plurality of R 23 may be bonded to each other to form a ring;

in Formula (Ph-3), each of R 25 and R 26 independently represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a phenyl group, a fluorenyl group, a naphthyl group, a triphenylenyl group, a phenanthryl group, or a group formed by combining these groups,

each of Ar 2 and Ar 3 independently represents an alkyl group, a phenyl group, a fluorenyl group, a naphthyl group, a triphenylenyl group, a phenanthryl group, or a group formed by combining these groups.

8. The organic electroluminescence device according to claim 1 ,

wherein the light emitting layer contains at least one phosphorescent light emitting material.

9. The organic electroluminescence device according to claim 1 ,

wherein at least one layer the light emitting layer, the organic layer adjacent to the light emitting layer and other organic layers present between the anode and the cathode is formed by a solution application process.

10. The organic electroluminescence device according to claim 1 ,

wherein the device contains a hole injection layer between the electrodes, and contains an electron accepting dopant in the hole injection layer.

11. The organic electroluminescence device according to claim 1 ,

wherein the device contains an electron injection layer between the electrodes, and contains an electron donating dopant in the electron injection layer.

12. A light emission apparatus using the organic electroluminescence device according to claim 1 .

13. A display apparatus using the organic electroluminescence device according to claim 1 .

14. An illumination apparatus using the organic electroluminescence device according to claim 1 .

15. The organic electroluminescence device according to claim 1 , wherein the organic layer adjacent to the light emitting layer comprises at least one hydrocarbon compound selected from the group consisting of:
