Abstract

A device for providing elements of survival, including two components that are attached together to form a sealed compartment. One side of the compartment is substantially flat to enable the transportation of persons or materials, and has a number of handles to facilitate transportation.

Claims (33)

1 . A device for providing elements of survival, comprising:

two substantially similar sub-components;

a locking mechanism;

a gasket;

a sliding handle; and

at least one wheel located in a position for selective engagement during transportation.

2 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the device is rotationally molded.

3 . The device of claim 2 , wherein each sub-component has an inside storage compartment.

4 . The device of claim 3 , in a horizontal locked position, wherein the gasket seals and is located between the two sub-components.

5 . The device of claim 4 , wherein the gasket is located around an outer perimeter defined by an opening to one of the inside storage compartments located in one of the two sub-components.

6 . The device of claim 5 , wherein each sub-component includes mating components including at least one protrusion and divet.

7 . The device of claim 6 , wherein the mating components of each sub-component are located on a shared surface and the mating components of each sub-component interface with and are mated together.

8 . The device of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the two sub-components includes an integral chamber which corresponds to the sliding handle.

9 . The device of claim 1 , in an adjacent and upright position, wherein the inside storage compartments are open.

10 . A rotationally molded device for providing elements of survival, comprising:

two substantially similar sub-components, wherein each sub-component has an inside storage compartment and molded mating components including at least one protrusion and divet;

a locking mechanism;

a gasket; and

at least one wheel.

11 . The device of claim 10 , in a horizontal locked position, wherein the gasket seals and is located between the two sub-components.

12 . The device of claim 11 , wherein the gasket is located around an outer perimeter defined by an opening to the inside storage compartment of one of the two sub-components.

13 . The device of claim 11 , wherein the two sub-components are substantially watertight.

14 . The device of claim 11 , wherein the molded mating components of each sub-component are located on a shared surface and the molded mating components of each sub-component interface with and are mated together.

15 . The device of claim 10 , in an adjacent and upright position, wherein the molded mating components are located on an outer surface of each of the two sub-components, such that the molded mating components of each of the two sub-components interface with and are mated together.

16 . The device of claim 10 , in an adjacent and upright position, wherein the inside storage compartments are open.

17 . The device of claim 10 , wherein each sub-component has two pairs of molded mating components including at least one protrusion and divet, wherein each pair of molded mating components is located on different surfaces of the sub-component.

18 . The device of claim 10 , wherein the device is fabricated from polypropylene.

19 . The device of claim 10 , wherein at least one wheel is located in a position for selective engagement during transportation.

20 . A device for providing elements of survival, comprising:

two substantially similar sub-components in a horizontal locked position, wherein each sub-component has an inside storage compartment;

a gasket located between and sealing the two sub-components;

a sliding handle housed in an integrated chamber provided by one of the two sub-components; and

at least one wheel located in a position for selective engagement during transportation.
