Abstract

Using an observation platform for training, monitoring, and mining structured communications. A signal is received from a first communication device at a second communication device associated with a computer system, wherein a first characteristic of the signal corresponds to an audible source and a second characteristic of the signal corresponds to information indicative of a geographic position of the first communication device.

Claims (30)

1. A method for controlling the delivery of instruction and training in an observation platform, comprising:

receiving a signal from a first communication device at a second communication device associated with a computer system, wherein said second communication device comprises a radio base station, wherein a first characteristic of said signal corresponds to supplemental information useful for said instruction and said training, wherein a second characteristic of said signal corresponds to audio information initiated by the user of said first communication device, wherein said supplemental information comprises user habits of a user associated with said first communication device wherein said user habits comprise button presses, geographic position and user activity associated with said first communication device, and wherein said first communication device is a mobile device;

determining a status of said user is available for training, wherein said status is determined based on an analysis of said user habits and context information derived from a communication history of said user, at said computer system, based on said supplemental information and information sent from said first communication device to said second communication device;

sending instructional information to said first communication device to provide training via said first communication device in response to a determination that said status of said user is available for training, wherein said instructional information is for use by said user in conjunction with said first communication device; and

responsive to said computer system determining based on said analysis that said status of said user has become unavailable for training, suspending said training on said first communication device then resuming said training on said first communication device responsive to said computer system again determining said user status is available for training.

2. The method of claim 1 wherein said instructional information is a training module.

3. The method of claim 1 wherein said supplemental information is selected from the group of supplemental information consisting of: information related to a geographic position of said first communication device, information related to environmental surroundings, information related to an audio input at said first communication device, sub-audible information, and stored data of said supplemental information for said first communication device, and user identification.

4. The method of claim 1 further comprising:

identifying a user associated with the first communication device at the computer system.

5. The method of claim 1 wherein said instructional information is selected by said computer system based on said geographic position of said first communication device.

6. The method of claim 1 wherein said instructional information is to train said user in how to use said first communication device in said observation platform.

7. The method of claim 1 wherein said instructional information comprises content for training a person representing a business in policies and procedures of said business.

8. The method of claim 1 wherein said instructional information comprises content for training a person representing a business in product details and selling techniques for products.

9. The method of claim 1 wherein said information sent from said first communication device used for said determining said status of said user is information that said first communication device is engaged in active communications with another communication device.

10. The method of claim 1 wherein said information sent from said first communication device used for said determining said status of said user is information that said user has manually indicated via said first communication device that said user is unavailable.

11. The method of claim 1 wherein said information sent from said first communication device used for said determining said status of said user is information from said user scheduling a time for said sending said instructional information.

12. The method of claim 1 further comprising:

tracking and measuring changes in said user habits of said user, at said computer system, following a reception and use of said instructional information by said user, wherein said user habits comprise button presses and user activity associated with said first communication device.

13. The method of claim 1 wherein said sending said instructional information streams data from said computer system to said first communication device.

14. A non-transitory computer-usable storage medium having instructions embodied therein that when executed cause a computer system to perform a method for instruction and training in an observation platform, said method comprising:

receiving a signal from a first communication device at a second communication device associated with a computer system, wherein said second communication device comprises a radio base station, wherein a first characteristic of said signal corresponds to supplemental information useful for said instruction and said training, wherein a second characteristic of said signal corresponds to audio information initiated by the user of said first communication device, wherein said supplemental information comprises user habits of a user associated with said first communication device wherein said user habits comprise button presses and user activity associated with said first communication device, and wherein said first communication device is a mobile device;

determining a status of said user is available for training, wherein said status is determined based on an analysis of said user habits and context information derived from a communication history of said user, at said computer system, based on said supplemental information and information sent from said first communication device to said second communication device;

sending instructional information to said first communication device to provide training via said first communication device in response to a determination that said status of said user is available for training, wherein said instructional information is for use by said user in conjunction with said first communication device; and

responsive to said computer system determining based on said analysis that said status of said user has become unavailable for training, suspending said training on said first communication device then resuming said training on said first communication device responsive to said computer system again determining said user status is available for training.

15. A system for training using structured communications, said system comprising:

a first communication device for sending a signal, wherein a first characteristic of said signal corresponds to supplemental information useful for said instruction and said training, wherein a second characteristic of said signal corresponds to audio information initiated by the user of said first communication device, wherein said supplemental information comprises user habits of a user associated with said first communication device wherein said user habits comprise button presses and user activity associated with said first communication device, wherein said first communication device is a mobile device;

a second communication device for receiving said signal, wherein said second communication device is a radio base station; and

a computer system associated with said second communication device for determining a status of said user is available for training, based on an analysis of said user habits and context information derived from a communication history of said user and said supplemental information, and information sent from said first communication device to said second communication device and wherein said computer system is configured to:

send instructional information to said first communication device to provide training via said first communication device in response to a determination that said status of said user is available for training, wherein said instructional information is for use by said user in conjunction with said first communication device; and

responsive to said computer system determining based on said analysis that said status of said user has become unavailable for training, suspend said training on said first communication device then resume said training on said first communication device responsive to said computer system again determining said user status is available for training.
