PORTION CAPSULE HAVING AN IDENTIFIER
A portion capsule for producing a beverage includes a base element having a cavity in which a beverage raw material is provided and which is closed by a membrane fastened to the base element.

Portion capsule for producing a beverage, comprising a base element having a cavity in which a beverage raw material is provided and which is closed by a membrane fastened to the base element, and the base element comprising a flange, wherein the flange has an identifier in order to individualize the respective portion capsule, characterized in that the identifier is a gearwheel or a gearwheel's section, which is placed at the outer circumference of the flange.
2 . Portion capsule according to claim 1 , characterized in that the teeth of the gearwheel or the gearwheel's segment are provided to be shaped substantially like a triangle, rectangle, quadrate or a wave.
3 . Portion capsule according to claim 1 , characterized in that a sealing surface is provided at the flange.
4 . Portion capsule according to claim 1 , characterized in that the identifier is provided in the membrane.
5 . Portion capsule according to claim 4 , characterized in that the membrane's outer area has means for fit locking.
6 . Portion capsule according to claim 1 , characterized in that a filter element, which divides the cavity into a first region for accommodating the beverage raw material and a second region for accommodating a beverage extract, is arranged within the cavity.
7 . Portion capsule according to claim 6 , characterized in that the filter element is made of a non-woven material.
8 . Portion capsule according to claim 1 for use in preparing a hot beverage.
9 . Portion capsule according to claim 4 , characterized in that the membrane's outer area has a gearwheel.
