Abstract

Disclosed herein are methods and compositions of treating a subject suffering from a wound. In exemplary examples, the method involves elevating MCPIP levels in a subject in need. Elevating MCPIP levels may involve direct administration (e.g. delivery of protein) or indirect administration (e.g. delivery vehicle capable of increasing expression of MCPIP).

Claims (3)

1. A method of treating a subject having a wound, the method comprising administering via topical administration an effective amount of the composition comprising an effective amount of MCPIP polypeptide, and optionally a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier to or in the vicinity of the wound.

2. A method of treating a subject having a topical wound, the method comprising administering via parenteral administration an effective amount of the composition comprising an effective amount of MCPIP polypeptide, and optionally a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the administration is done by applying a dressing comprising an effective amount of the wound composition at, over, or adjacent the wound of the subject, the dressing selected from the group consisting of a transdermal patch, a pad, a powder, a matrix, and a bandage.
