Abstract

The disclosed embodiments relate to and the presentation thereof in a computer interface. Particularly, some embodiments facilitate the selection of combinations by a user. The combination may be, e.g., an engagement and a wedding ring. In some embodiments, an event-triggering architecture in the interface facilitates the selective updating of interface elements in a manner paralleling the desired process path traversed by the user.

Claims (50)

1 . A computer system comprising:

a network interface configured to communicate with a user device;

at least one processor;

at least one memory comprising instructions that are executable by at least one processor on the user device, to:

receive a selection of a first style from a user;

request a dataset from the server in response to the selection;

display a first plurality of primary elements associated with the first style based upon at least a portion of the dataset;

receive a user selection of a first element from the first plurality of primary elements; and

perform a plurality of interface updates based upon the user selection of the first element, wherein

a first update of the plurality of updates comprises:

modifying an interface to reflect information regarding a second element, the second element not included in the first plurality of primary elements, and wherein

a second update of the plurality of updates comprises:

modifying an interface to reflect an image depicting both the first element and the second element.

2 . The computer system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions are further executable by the at least one processor to cause the user device to display an interface comprising a “ghost” icon directing the user how to provide an input.

3 . The computer system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions are configured to be received via browser software on the user device.

4 . The computer system of claim 0 , wherein the instructions comprise JAVASCRIPT and wherein the dataset comprises a JSON object.

5 . The computer system of claim 1 , wherein the first element is an engagement ring and the second element is a wedding ring.

The computer system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of updates comprises an event cascade, wherein the first update of the plurality of updates is configured to trigger a third update, the third update configured to update a display of price information associated with the first element and a display of price information associated with the second element.

7 . The computer system of claim 6 , wherein the first update of the event cascade is configured to trigger a fourth update, the fourth update configured to stop a perspective animation of the first element.

8 . A computer-implemented method for presenting element information comprising:

receiving a selection of a first style from a user;

requesting a dataset from the server in response to the selection;

displaying a first plurality of primary elements associated with the first style based upon at least a portion of the dataset;

receiving a user selection of a first element from the first plurality of primary elements; and

performing a plurality of interface updates based upon the user selection of the first element, wherein

a first update of the plurality of updates comprises:

modifying an interface to reflect information regarding a second element, the second element not included in the first plurality of primary elements, and wherein

a second update of the plurality of updates comprises:

modifying an interface to reflect an image depicting both the first element and the second element.

9 . The computer-implemented method of claim 8 , wherein the instructions are received via browser software.

10 . The computer-implemented method of claim 9 , wherein the instructions comprise JAVASCRIPT and wherein the dataset comprises a JSON object.

11 . The computer-implemented method of claim 8 , wherein the first element is an engagement ring and the second element is a wedding ring.

12 . The computer-implemented method of claim 8 , wherein the plurality of updates comprises an event cascade, wherein the first update of the plurality of updates is configured to trigger a third update, the third update configured to update a display of price information associated with the first element and a display of price information associated with the second element.

13 . The computer-implemented method of claim 12 , wherein the first update of the event cascade is configured to trigger a fourth update, the fourth update configured to stop a perspective animation of the first element.

14 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions executable by one or more processors to cause a computer system to:

receive a selection of a first style from a user;

request a dataset from the server in response to the selection;

display a first plurality of primary elements associated with the first style based upon at least a portion of the dataset;

receive a user selection of a first element from the first plurality of primary elements; and

perform a plurality of interface updates based upon the user selection of the first element, wherein

a first update of the plurality of updates comprises:

modifying an interface to reflect information regarding a second element, the second element not included in the first plurality of primary elements, and wherein

a second update of the plurality of updates comprises:

modifying an interface to reflect an image depicting both the first element and the second element.

15 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 14 , wherein the non-transitory computer-readable medium is located on a memory in a server.

16 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 14 , wherein the instructions are received via browser software.

17 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 16 , wherein the instructions comprise JAVASCRIPT and wherein the dataset comprises a JSON object.

18 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 14 , wherein the first element is an engagement ring and the second element is a wedding ring.

19 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 14 , wherein the plurality of updates comprises an event cascade, wherein the first update of the plurality of updates is configured to trigger a third update, the third update configured to update a display of price information associated with the first element and a display of price information associated with the second element.

20 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 19 , wherein the first update of the event cascade is configured to trigger a fourth update, the fourth update configured to stop a perspective animation of the first element.
