Golf club head with improved aerodynamic characteristics
A driver type golf club head comprising a body having a face, a crown and a sole, wherein the highest point of the crown surface is located within a crown apex zone, and a portion of the crown contour exists above a radius arc of approximately 5.25 inches.
1. A golf club head comprising:
a body having a face, a crown, and a sole,
wherein the highest point of the crown is located within a crown apex zone,
wherein the crown apex zone is located approximately 0.8 inch rearward and 0.03 inch upward from a face-crown intersection,
wherein the body has a depth of at least 4.6 inches, and
wherein a portion of the crown exists above a radius arc of approximately 5.25 inches.
2. The golf club head according to claim 1 , wherein the golf club head has a volume of less than 400 cubic centimeters.
3. The golf club head according to claim 1 , wherein the body is composed of a stainless steel material.
4. The golf club head according to claim 1 , wherein the sole is composed of a metal material.
5. The golf club head according to claim 1 , wherein the crown is composed of a non-metal material.
6. The golf club head according to claim 1 , wherein the body is composed of a titanium alloy material.
7. The golf club head according to claim 1 , wherein the body has a height that is less than half the depth of the body.
