Multilayer graphic article
View Patent ↗A multilayer graphic article includes (a) a fabric matrix or support having an upper and lower surface, (b) at least one image layer disposed on the upper surface of the fabric matrix or support, (c) a protective layer disposed over the at least one image layer, and, (d) an adhesive layer adhered to the lower surface of the fabric matrix or support.
1. A process for conveying information on a surface subjected to foot or automotive traffic, said process comprising adhering to said surface a graphic article that comprises
a) a fabric comprising upper and lower surfaces, said fabric having a thickness of from about 0.01 to about 0.03 cm, said upper surface bearing a printed image and said lower surface being adapted to directly contact an adhesive, and
b) a transparent outer protective coating overlaying said image, said outer protective coating having a thickness of from about 2 to about 15 mils.
2. The process of claim 1 further comprising removing said article from said surface, wherein said article remains integral during the removal step.
3. The process of claim 1 wherein at least one of said upper and lower surfaces of said fabric is primed.
4. The process of claim 1 wherein said outer protective coating comprises anti-skid particles embedded therein or attached thereto.
5. The process of claim 1 wherein said outer protective coating comprises a textured upper surface.
6. The process of claim 1 wherein said outer protective coating comprises a polyurethane.
7. The process of claim 6 wherein said outer protective coating further comprising an acrylic or epoxy component.
8. The process of claim 6 wherein said polyurethane is provided from an aqueous dispersion.
9. The process of claim 1 wherein said fabric layer has a thickness of from about 0.015 to about 0.025 cm.
10. The process of claim 1 wherein said outer protective coating comprises a polyurea.
11. The process of claim 1 wherein said outer protective coating comprises an epoxy.
12. The process of claim 1 wherein said outer protective coating has a thickness of from about 5 to about 10 mils.
13. The process of claim 1 wherein said outer protective coating has a thickness of from about 7 to about 8 mils.
