Abstract

The present application describes deuterium-enriched pioglitazone, pharmaceutically acceptable salt forms thereof, and methods of treating using the same.

Claims (26)

1 . A method of treating diabetes mellitus type 2, comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of a deuterium-enriched compound of formula Ito a patient in need thereof to treat the diabetes mellitus type 2, wherein formula I is represented by:

or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein R 1 and R 3 -R 20 are independently H or D.
