determining a probability that the other users are in the calculated demographic category.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the demographic information comprises a gender of the first user.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the demographic information comprises an age of the first user.

8. A system for determining a demographic category of users in a web environment that includes a client computer and a server computer comprising:

a client computer having a memory;

an application executing on the client computer, wherein the application is configured to:

receive, from a website, via the server computer across a network, demographic information about a first user, wherein the first user is a member of the website;

receive a record of websites visited by the first user based on a monitoring and recording of a web browsing history of the first user; and

utilize the demographic information about the first user to calculate the demographic category of other users that have visited one or more of the websites in the record of websites.

9. The system of claim 8 , wherein, the demographic information is voluntarily submitted to the website by the user as part of a registration procedure.

receiving, from a web site, via the server computer across a network, demographic information about a first user, wherein the first user is a member of the website;

receiving a record of websites visited by the first user based on a monitoring and recording of a web browsing history of the first user; and

utilizing the demographic information about the first user to calculate the demographic category of other users that have visited one or more of the websites in the record of websites.

16. The non-transient computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein, the demographic information is voluntarily submitted to the website by the user as part of a registration procedure.

17. The non-transient computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the method steps further comprise:

presenting advertisements to the other users based on the calculated demographic category.

18. The non-transient computer readable medium of claim 17 , wherein the method steps further comprise:

determining whether a desired number of the other users that are within the calculated demographic category have viewed the advertisements.

19. The non-transient computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the method steps further comprise:

determining a probability that the other users are in the calculated demographic category.

20. The non-transient computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the demographic information comprises a gender of the first user.

21. The non-transient computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the demographic information comprises an age of the first user.
