CONTEXTUAL INFORMATION
Methods, systems, and products provide contextual information for communications. A call, for example, is processed from an origination address to a destination address. A query is made for a brand of device associated with the origination address making the call. The brand of device is announced during the call.
1 . A method comprising:
facilitating, using at least one processor, a communication between a first user using a first communication device and a second user using a second communication device;
receiving a brand of the first communication device used by the first user; and
providing, in conjunction with the communication, the brand of the first communication device to the second user.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein receiving the brand of the first communication device comprises retrieving the brand of the first communication device from a user profile associated with the first user.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein receiving the brand of the first communication device comprises receiving the brand from a service provider associated with the first user.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein receiving the brand of the first communication device comprises receiving the brand from the first communication device.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein receiving the brand of the first communication device comprises monitoring communications associated with the first user to obtain the brand of the first communication device.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein providing, in conjunction with the communication, the brand of the first communication device to the second user comprises sending the brand of the first communication device in the communication.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein providing, in conjunction with the communication, the brand of the first communication device to the second user comprises presenting the brand of the first communication device within a graphical user interface.
8 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
determining that the brand of the first communication device is different than a brand of the second communication device; and
providing the brand of the first communication device to the second user in response to the determination that the brand of the first communication device is different than the brand of the second communication device.
9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein determining that the brand of the first communication device is different than the brand of the second communication device comprises comparing profile information for the first user to profile information for the second user.
10 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
determining that the brand of the first communication device is the same as a brand of the second communication device; and
providing the brand of the first communication device to the second user in response to the determination that the brand of the first communication device is the same as the brand of the second communication device.
11 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising providing contextual information to the second user in conjunction with the communication.
12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the contextual information comprises an advertisement associated with the brand of the first communication device.
13 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising:
providing the second user a selectable option for accessing the contextual information; and
providing the contextual information to the second user in response to a selection by the second user of the selectable option.
14 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising providing an audible indication to the second user that the contextual information is available.
15 . The method of claim 1 , wherein providing the brand of the first communication device to the second user comprises announcing the brand of the first communication device to the second user.
16 . The method of claim 1 , wherein providing, in conjunction with the communication, the brand of the first communication device to the second user comprises providing the brand of the first communication device and the communication to the second communication device.
17 . A method comprising:
facilitating, using at least one processor, a communication between a first user using a first communication device and a second user using a second communication device;
receiving information about the first communication device used by the first user; and
providing, in conjunction with the communication, at least a portion of the information about the first communication device to the second user.
18 . The method of claim 17 , wherein receiving the information about the first communication device comprises at least one of:
retrieving the information about the first communication device from a user profile associated with the first user,
receiving the information from a service provider associated with the first user,
receiving the information from the first communication device, or
monitoring communications associated with the first user to obtain the information about the first communication device.
19 . The method of claim 17 , wherein providing, in conjunction with the communication, at least a portion of the information about the first communication device to the second user comprises at least one of:
sending at least a portion of the information about the first communication device in the communication, or
presenting at least a portion of the information about the first communication device within a graphical user interface.
20 . The method of claim 17 , further comprising:
determining that a portion of the information about the first communication device is different than a portion of information about the second communication device; and
providing at least a portion of the information about the first communication device to the second user in response to the determination that the portion of the information about the first communication device is different than the portion of the information about the second communication device.
21 . The method of claim 17 , further comprising providing contextual information to the second user in conjunction with the communication, wherein the contextual information comprises an advertisement associated with the information about the first communication device.
22 . A method comprising:
facilitating, using at least one processor, a communication between a first user using a first communication device and a second user using a second communication device;
receiving information about a service used by the first user to communicate with the second user; and
providing, in conjunction with the communication, at least a portion of the information about the service to the second user.
23 . The method of claim 22 , wherein receiving information about the service comprises at least one of:
retrieving information regarding the service from a user profile associated with the first user,
receiving information regarding the service from a provider of the service, or
monitoring communications associated with the first user to obtain the information about the service.
24 . The method of claim 22 , wherein providing, in conjunction with the communication, at least a portion of the information about the service to the second user comprises at least one of:
sending information regarding the service to the second communication device, or
presenting information regarding the service within a graphical user interface.
25 . The method of claim 22 , further comprising:
determining that the service used by the first user is different than a service used by the second user; and
providing at least a portion of the information about the service to the second user in response to the determination that the service used by the first user is different than the service used by the second user.
26 . The method of claim 25 , further comprising providing an advertisement associated with the service to the second user.
