1 . A method comprising:
communicating, using at least one processor, with each of a plurality of communication systems associated with a user;
receiving, from the plurality of communication systems, information corresponding to communications intended for the user; and
providing, to the user and based on the received information, notifications for each of the communications intended for the user.
2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising sending, to a first communication system from among the plurality of communication systems, a request for the first communication system to provide information corresponding to communications intended for the user via the first communication system.
3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the receiving information corresponding to communications intended for the user comprises receiving, from the first communication system, information corresponding to communications intended for the user via the first communication system in response to the request.
4 . The method of claim 3 , wherein the receiving information corresponding to communications intended for the user further comprises receiving, from a second communication system from among the plurality of communication system, and independent of any request, information corresponding to communications intended for the user via the second communication system.
5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising providing, in conjunction with providing the notifications, an indication corresponding to a specific communication system from among the plurality of communication systems associated with each of the notifications.
6 . The method of claim 5 , further comprising providing, in conjunction with providing the notifications, identifiers corresponding to sender users associated with each of the notifications.
7 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising detecting a user selection of a specific notification.
8 . The method of claim 7 , further comprising:
receiving, based on the user selection, the entirety of a specific communication corresponding to the specific notification; and
providing the specific communication to the user.
9 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising:
detecting a user selection of an action to reply to the specific communication; and
based upon detecting the user selection, providing the user with previous communications from a sender user associated with the specific communication.
10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein providing the user with the previous communications from the sender user further comprises:
providing the user with one or more previous communications from a first communication system; and
providing the user with one or more previous communications from a second communication system.
11 . A method comprising:
receiving information corresponding to communications intended for a user, each of the communications being associated with one of a plurality of communication systems;
accessing, using at least one processor, user preferences indicating whether to notify the user of communications intended for the user;
notifying, in accordance with the user preferences, the user of a first communication; and
preventing, in accordance with the user preferences, notification of a second communication.
