Abstract

An augmented reality device may consist of at least a controller, memory, and at least one screen. The augmented reality device can be configured to display an augmented reality digital content via the at least one screen with the augmented reality digital content positioned at a physical location and displayed only when a user is oriented towards the physical location. The physical location can be purchased by a third party that supplies the augmented reality digital content.

Claims (30)

1 . An apparatus comprising a device comprising a controller, memory, and at least one screen, the device configured to display augmented reality digital content only when a user is oriented towards a physical location purchased by a third party.

2 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the physical location is defined by at least two unique sets of coordinates, a set of coordinates comprising a longitude, latitude, and altitude.

3 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein an interaction circuit of the device is configured to recognize physical engagement with intangible content of the physical location by the user.

4 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the controller obscures a portion of the augmented reality digital content in response to a physical structure positioned between the physical location and the user.

5 . A method comprising:

setting a purchase price of airspace at a physical location;

purchasing airspace at the physical location;

populating the digital airspace with augmented reality digital content;

providing a device comprising a controller, memory, and at least one screen; and

displaying the augmented reality digital content on the at least one screen only when a user is oriented towards the physical location.

6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the purchase price is set based on a visibility value, the visibility value corresponding to the amount of obstructions proximal the physical location.

7 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the purchase price is set based on a plurality of marketing factors involving the population proximal the physical location.

8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein a marketing factor of the plurality of marketing factors comprises cost of living.

9 . The method of claim 7 , wherein a marketing factor of the plurality of marketing factors comprises per capita income.

10 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the purchase price is set based on the type of augmented reality digital content being purchased, a type of augmented reality digital content comprising static or dynamic images.

11 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the purchase price is set based on a premium value, the premium value corresponding to an amount of traffic passing by the physical location over a predetermined amount of time.

12 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the purchase price is set based on a geofence positioned proximal the physical location.

13 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the purchase price is set based on a size of the augmented realty digital content.

14 . A method comprising:

setting a purchase price of airspace at a physical location using a pricing algorithm;

purchasing airspace at the physical location;

populating the digital airspace with augmented reality digital content;

providing a device comprising a controller, memory, and at least one screen; and

displaying the augmented reality digital content on the at least one screen only when a user is oriented towards the physical location.

15 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the pricing algorithm is updated in response to a recognized change in the physical location.

16 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the pricing algorithm is updated in response to a recognized change in effectiveness of the augmented reality digital content.

17 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the pricing algorithm predicts a number of users of the augmented reality digital content over a period of time.

18 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the pricing algorithm sets multiple purchase prices for different portions of the physical location.

19 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the pricing algorithm evaluates whether the physical location is indoor or outdoor.

20 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the pricing algorithm is computed at a remote server that provides the augmented reality digital content to the device over a wireless network.
