SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING AND DISTRIBUTING CONSUMER ITEMS ACCORDING TO DYNAMIC DEMAND LEVELS
This invention is directed to a computerized system for asynchronously receiving persistent query requests, selecting a subset from the plurality of persistent query requests for a particular item, ordering the subset of persistent query requests into a plurality of equal range brackets between the highest desired price to the lowest desired price, receiving a set of sales program criteria from the vendor computer system created in response to the vendor computer system previously receiving the subset of persistent query requests having available quantity and available price information for the items available for sale from the vendor, determining the number of available items from the sales program criteria having available prices that are within a first desired range bracket, and transmitting a notification to the remote computer devices associated with the query results having available prices in the first range bracket.
1 . A system for matching actual consumer demand with discrete items available for purchase comprising:
a server having a computer readable medium and processor and in communications with a plurality of remote computer devices and a vendor computer system; and,
a set of computer readable instructions on the computer readable medium that, when executed by the processor, causes the server to: asynchronously receive a plurality of persistent query requests from at least a portion of the plurality of remote computer devices including an item and desired price for a particular item wherein each persistent search request has a time and date stamp and duration, selecting a subset of persistent query requests from the plurality of persistent query requests, ordering the subset of persistent query requests from highest to lowest by the desired price of each persistent query request, transmitting the ordered subset of persistent query request to the vendor computer system, receiving a set of sales program criteria from the vendor computer system created in response to the subset of persistent query requests wherein the set of sales program criteria includes available quantity and available price information for the items available for sale from the vendor associated with the vendor's computer system. determining the number of available items from the sales program criteria having an available price that is equal to or lower than a first desired price, and transmitting a notification to the remote computer devices associated with the query results having an available price equal to or lower than the first desired price.
2 . The system of claim 1 wherein the first desired price is the highest desired price in the subset of persistent query requests.

The system of claim 1 wherein the set of computer readable instructions include instructions for determining the number of available items from the sales program criteria having an available price that is equal to or higher than the first desired price, equal to or lower than a second desired price that is lower than the first desired price and transmitting a notification to the remote computer devices, representing the availability of items for sale at the price.
4 . The system of claim 1 wherein the set of computer readable instructions includes instructions for selecting a subset of the persistent query requests that have a time stamp equal to or later than a predetermined period of time.
5 . The system of claim 1 wherein the set of computer readable instructions include instructions for selecting a subset of the persistent query requests that has a duration equal to or shorter than a predetermined period of time.
6 . The system of claim 1 wherein the set of computer readable instructions include instructions for
determining a first price range representing a portion of desirable prices from the subset of persistent query requests,
determining the number of available items from the sales program criteria having an available price that is in the first price range,
transmitting a notification to the remote computer devices associated with the query results associated with the first price range so that the user is provided a purchasing opportunity.

The system of claim 6 wherein the computer readable instructions include instructions for terminating the purchasing opportunity associated with the first price range, determining a second price range representing a portion of desirable prices from the subset of persistent query requests that is lower than the prices in the first price range, determining the number of available items from the sales program criteria having an available price that are in the second price range, and transmitting a notification to the remote computer devices associated with the query results associated with the first price range.

The system of claim 6 wherein the computer readable instructions includes instructions for terminating the purchasing opportunity associated with the first price range, determining a second price range representing a portion of desirable prices from the subset of persistent query requests that is lower than the prices in the first price range, offering a coupon against the available price so that the available price less the coupon amount falls in the second price range, and transmitting a notification to the remote computer devices associated with the query results associated with the first price range.
9 . The system of claim 8 wherein the computer readable instructions includes instructions for expiring the coupon after a predetermined period of time.

The system of claim 6 wherein the computer readable instructions includes instructions for terminating the purchasing opportunity associated with the first price range, determining a second price range representing a portion of desirable prices from the subset of persistent query requests that is lower than the prices in the first price range, reducing the available price so that the reduced available price falls in the second price range, and transmitting a notification to the remote computer devices associated with the query results associated with the first price range.
11 . A system for matching consumer demand with an item for purchase having a server having a computer readable medium and processor and in communications with a plurality of remote computer devices and a vendor computer system comprising:
a plurality of fetchers for asynchronously receiving a plurality of persistent query requests including an item description and desired price for the item from at least a portion of the remote computer devices wherein each persistent search request has a time and date stamp and duration and placing the persistent query requests on a persistent query queue;
an aggregator for retrieving a subset of persistent query requests from the persistent request queue for the item, ordering the subset of persistent query requests from highest to lowest by desired price and transmitting the ordered subset of persistent query requests to the vendor computer system;
a sales agent for receiving a set of sales program criteria from the vendor computer system created in response to the subset of persistent query requests having available quantity and available price information for the item, determining the number of available items from the sales program criteria having an available price that are equal to or higher than a first desired price and transmitting a notification to the remote computer devices associated with the query results having an available price equal to or higher than the first desired price.
12 . The system of claim 11 wherein the aggregator retrieves a subset of the persistent query requests of persistent query requests having a date and time stamp that is equal to or later than a predetermined period of time.

The system of claim 11 including a bracketing agent for determining a first price range representing a portion of desirable prices from the subset of persistent query requests, determining the number of available items from the sales program criteria having an available price that are in the first price range, transmitting a notification to the user's remote computer devices associated with the query results associated with the first price range so that the user is provided a purchasing opportunity.

The system of claim 13 wherein the bracketing agent terminates the purchasing opportunity associated with the first price range, determines a second price range representing a portion of desirable prices from the subset of persistent query requests that is lower than the prices in the first price range, determines the number of available items from the sales program criteria having an available price that are in the second price range and transmits a notification to the user's remote computer devices associated with the query results associated with the first price range.

The system of claim 13 wherein the bracketing agent terminates the purchasing opportunity associated with the first price range, determines a second price range representing a portion of desirable prices from the persistent query requests that is lower than the prices in the first price range, offers a coupon against the available price so that the available price less the coupon amount falls in the second price range, transmits a notification to the user's remote computer devices associated with the query results associated with the first price range.

The system of claim 13 wherein the bracketing agent terminates the purchasing opportunity associated with the first price range, determines a second price range representing a portion of desirable prices from the persistent query requests that is lower than the prices in the first price range, reduces the available price so that the reduced available price falls in the second price range, transmits a notification to the user's remote computer devices associated with the query results associated with the first price range.
17 . A system for matching consumer demand with an item for purchase including a server having a computer readable medium and processor and in communications with a plurality of remote computer devices and a vendor computer system with a set of computer readable instructions comprising:
asynchronously receiving a plurality of persistent query requests including an item and desired price for a particular item from at least a portion of the remote computer devices wherein each persistent search request has a time and date stamp and duration,
selecting a subset from the plurality of persistent query requests for a particular item,
ordering the subset of persistent query requests into a plurality of equal range brackets between the highest desired price to the lowest desired price,
receiving a set of sales program criteria from the vendor computer system created in response to the vendor computer system previously receiving the subset of persistent query requests having available quantity and available price information for the items available for sale from the vendor,
determining the number of available items from the sales program criteria having available prices that are within a first desired range bracket, and
transmitting a notification to the remote computer devices associated with the query results having available prices in the first range bracket.

The system of claim 17 including instructions for terminating the ability of the user's remote computing device to purchase the item in the first range bracket, reducing the available price until it is within a second range bracket wherein the second range bracket is lower than the first range bracket, determining the number of available items from the sales program criteria having the reduced available price that are within the second range bracket, transmitting a notification to the user's remote computer devices associated with the query results having the reduced available price in the second range bracket.

The system of claim 17 including instructions for terminating the ability of the user's remote computing device to purchase the item in the first range bracket, including a coupon so that the available price less the coupon amount is within a second range bracket wherein the second range bracket is lower than the first range bracket, determining the number of available items from the sales program criteria having the available price less the coupon that are within the second range bracket, transmitting a notification to the remote computer devices associated with the query results having the reduced available price in the second range bracket.
20 . The system of claim 19 including instructions to expire the coupon upon a predetermined period of time.
