MODULATORS OF COAGULATION FACTORS
The invention provides improved nucleic acid ligands that inhibit coagulation and improved modulators of the nucleic acid ligands to provide ideal modulators of coagulation. These improved nucleic acid ligands and modulators are particularly useful for inhibiting coagulation in a host undergoing a therapeutic regime such as surgery or coronary artery bypass.
1 . A first isolated nucleic acid comprising a nucleic acid sequence selected from the group consisting of sequence SEQ ID NO:10 through SEQ ID NO:59.
2 . The nucleic acid of claim 1 , comprising a three dimensional structure comprising a first and a second stem wherein the first stem comprises five nucleotides in a 5′ to 3′ direction.
3 . The first isolated nucleic acid of claim 3 , wherein a first stem comprises three guanine residues.
4 . The first isolated nucleic acid of claim 3 , wherein a first loop comprises ten or nine nucleotides in a 5′ to 3′ direction.
5 . The first isolated nucleic acid of claim 3 , wherein the first isolated nucleic acid further comprises a suicide position that becomes single stranded upon binding of an antidote.
