Abstract

The present disclosure relates generally to mobile devices and content recognition. One claim recites a mobile device comprising: a sensor; a display screen; memory storing instructions for execution by a processor; and one or more processors programmed with said instructions for: obtaining information from the sensor; selecting a user profile from among a plurality of different user profiles based on the information; and selecting—based on a selected user profile—an image or graphic for display on the display screen, the image or graphic being associated with the selected user profile. Other claims and combinations are provided as well.

Claims (34)

1. A first mobile device comprising:

a sensor comprising an accelerometer for outputting movement information;

a display screen;

memory storing instructions for execution by a processor; and

one or more processors programmed with said instructions for:

obtaining movement information from the sensor;

selecting a user profile from among a plurality of different user profiles based on the movement information, in which the plurality of different user profiles comprises a social media profile and a retail profile; and

selecting—based on a selected user profile—an image or graphic for display on the display screen, the image or graphic being associated with the selected user profile, in which said on or more processors are configured to enable transfer of the selected user profile to a second mobile device.

2. The first mobile device of claim 1 in which the movement information comprises relative movement information.

3. The first mobile device of claim 1 in which the plurality of different user profiles is associated with different information in said memory.

4. The method of claim 3 in which the movement information comprises relative movement.

5. The first mobile device of claim 1 in which said one or more processors are programmed for transforming a selected image or graphic with digital watermarking, the digital watermarking comprising a plural-bit payload associated with the selected user profile.

6. A first mobile device comprising:

a sensor comprising a microphone for capturing ambient audio;

a display screen;

memory storing instructions for execution by a processor; and

one or more processors programmed with said instructions for:

obtaining audio information from the sensor;

selecting a user profile from among a plurality of different user profiles based on the audio information, in which the plurality of different user profiles comprises a social media profile and a retail profile; and

selecting—based on a selected user profile—an image or graphic for display on the display screen, the image or graphic being associated with the selected user profile, in which said one or more processors are configured to enable transfer of the selected user profile to a second mobile device.

7. The first mobile device of claim 6 further comprising a global positioning receiver (GPS receiver) for generating location information, in which the selecting a user profile is based on the location information.

8. A method comprising:

obtaining movement information from a sensor on a first mobile device, in which the sensor comprises an accelerometer for indicating movement;

using the movement information to select a user profile from among a plurality of different user profiles based on the movement information, in which the plurality of different user profiles comprises a social media profile and a retail profile;

controlling a display screen on the mobile device to display an image or graphic, the image or graphic being associated with the selected user profile; and

enabling transfer of the selected user profile to a second mobile device.

9. The method of claim 8 in which the plurality of different user profiles is associated with different information in memory on the first mobile device or a remotely located database.

10. The method of claim 8 further comprising transforming the selected image or graphic with digital watermarking, the digital watermarking including a plural-bit payload associated with the selected user profile.

11. A method comprising:

obtaining audio information from a sensor on a first mobile device, in which the sensor comprises a microphone for capturing ambient audio;

using the audio information to select a user profile from among a plurality of different user profiles based on the audio information, in which the plurality of different user profiles comprises a social media profile and a retail profile; and

controlling a display screen on the mobile device to display an image or graphic, the image or graphic being associated with the selected user profile; and

enabling transfer of the selected user profile to a second mobile device.

12. The method of claim 11 in which the first mobile device further comprises a global positioning receiver (GPS receiver) for generating location information, in which selection of a user profile is based on the location information.
