Abstract

The present invention is directed to the use of EP2 and/or EP4 agonists as therapeutics for the treatment of diseases associated with influenza A viruses, such as for example H5N1 and mutations thereof.

21 : A method of inhibiting the release of overstimulated cytokines and/or chemokines in a subject, said method comprising administering to a subject in need thereof an amount of beraprost effective to inhibit the release of overstimulated cytokines and/or chemokines.

22 : The method of claim 21 , wherein said cytokines and/or chemokines are inflammatory cytokines or chemokines.

23 : The method of claim 21 , wherein the overstimulated cytokines comprise TNFα.

24 : The method of claim 21 , wherein the overstimulated cytokines comprise IFN-gamma.

25 : The method of claim 21 , wherein said beraprost is a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or cyclodextrin clathrate.
