Material for use with a capacitive touch screen
A modified material for use with a capacitive touch screen is described. The modified material comprises a material impregnated with a composition comprising either a non-metallic and/or a metallic conductive agent with a binder. A variety of materials are contemplated, including, but not limited to leather. Also described is an apparatus and method of providing a conductive glove is disclosed.
1 - 25 . (canceled)
26 . A method for a user to functionally interact with a touch screen device while wearing a glove on the hand which interacts with the device, said method comprising
functionally interacting with the touch screen device via a modified leather portion or portions of the glove,
wherein:
at least a portion of the glove comprises the modified leather material,
the modified leather material is leather which comprises a non-metallic electrically conductive agent,
the non-metallic electrically conductive agent comprises carbon black,
and the non-metallic electrically conductive agent is impregnated into at least that portion of the modified leather which functionally interacts with the touch screen device in a concentration sufficient to enable functional interaction with said device.
27 . The method of claim 26 , wherein the carbon black further is found on the leather.
28 . The method of claim 26 , wherein the composition further comprises a binder for binding the non-metallic electrically conductive agent within the leather.
29 . The method of claim 28 , wherein the non-metallic electrically conductive agent and binder are impregnated at least into and optionally onto the fiber matrices of at least that part of the modified leather material of the glove.
30 . The method of claim 26 , further comprising before functionally interacting with the touch screen device:
applying the glove on at least one hand of the user.
