Abstract

A system, apparatus and method for transmitting and receiving medical test data is provided having memory that stores computer-executable instructions; processor, communicatively coupled to the memory that facilitates execution of the computer-executable instructions; and having: a transmission means operatively associated with a device, a receiver adapted and configured to receive data from the transmission means; a central database adapted and configured to compile the data; wherein the data is transformed into an output comprised of an aggregate of medical test data from at least one medical test. The computer implemented method for transmitting and receiving medical test data comprises the steps of transmitting means operatively associated with a device, receiving data from the transmission means; compiling the data into a central database; and transforming the data from the database into an output comprised of an aggregate of medical test data from at least one medical tests.

Claims (14)

1. An apparatus for collecting and transmitting medical test data, the apparatus comprising:

an external housing having a power source that provides power to a processor and a memory contained therein, with the memory being operably coupled to the processor;

a display for displaying information associated with at least one medical test;

a wireless transceiver configured to send collected medical test data to a remote location to be recorded in a central database, using three of an email service, a short message service (SMS), an instant messaging service (IM), an Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) service, a Greedy Perimeter Stateless Routing (GPSR) service, a Global System for Mobile communications (GSM) voice service, and a fax service;

wherein a first service sends the collected medical test data to the remote location, and in the event a confirmation of receipt of the readings sent using the first service is not received, a second service sends the collected medical test data to the remote location, and in the event a confirmation of receipt of the readings sent using the second service is not received, a third service sends the collected medical test data to the remote location, and in the event a confirmation of receipt of the reading sent using the third service is not received, the medical test data is stored in the memory for resending the next time a reading is taken; and

at least one receptacle configured to receive a medical testing apparatus,

wherein the medical testing apparatus is analyzed by the apparatus as a medical test reading used to generate the medical test data.

2. The apparatus of claim 1 further comprising at least one touch sensitive button configured to change an output of the display.

3. The apparatus of claim 1 further comprising a charging receptacle.

4. The apparatus of claim 3 wherein coupling a charging device to the charging receptacle causes the power source to be charged.

5. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein a first end of the medical testing apparatus comprises an electronic connector.

6. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein a second send of the medical testing apparatus is configured to receive a body fluid for testing.

7. The apparatus of claim 1 further comprising at least one sound emitting device.

8. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein a result of the at least one medical test is stored in the memory of the apparatus.
