Abstract

A system and a method for conducting research including a plurality of participants includes receiving, from a first client application associated with a first research participant, a first type of content including a status of the first research participant with respect to a first target location; selecting a second type of content based at least in part on the first type of content received from the first client application; determining to transmit the second type of content to at least one of the first client application and a second client application associated with a research organizer based at least in part on the first type of content received from the first client application; and transmitting the second type of content to at least one of the first client application and the second client application.

Claims (48)

1 . A system, comprising:

at least one hardware processor; and

one or more software modules that are configured to, when executed by the at least one hardware processor:

receive, from a first client application associated with a first research participant, a first type of content including a status of the first research participant with respect to a first target location;

select a second type of content based at least in part on the first type of content received from the first client application;

determine to transmit the second type of content to at least one of the first client application and a second client application associated with a research organizer based at least in part on the first type of content received from the first client application; and

transmit the second type of content to at least one of the first client application and the second client application.

2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more software modules are further configured to:

determine a time or a schedule to transmit the second type of content based on at least one of the first type of content and the second type of content; and

transmit the second type of content to at least one of the first client application and the second client application based on the transmission time or schedule.

3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the first type of content comprises one or more of the following: social media data, geolocation data, audio, images, video, and text.

4 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the first type of content comprises one or more of the following: report of an occurrence of an event, and notification of non-compliance with one or more conditions.

5 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more software modules are further configured to receive, from the first client application, one or more attributes associated with the first research participant.

6 . The system of claim 5 , wherein the one or more attributes associated with the first research participant includes one or more of the following: demographics and interests.

7 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the first client application is configured to:

provide a user interface to the first research participant; and

receive at least the first type of data from the first research participant.

8 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the first client application is further configured to associate the first type of data with a record for the first research participant.

9 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the one or more software modules are further configured to store at least a portion of the record associated with the first research participant.

10 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the one or more software modules are further configured to analyze the record associated with the first research participant and generate one or more reports.

11 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the first client application is further configured to associate the first type of data with a timestamp.

12 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more software modules are further configured to select the second type of data based at least in part on a timestamp associated with the first type of data.

13 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the second type of data comprises at least one contextual message.

14 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one contextual message comprises one of the following: an alert, a notification, one or more recommendations, and a survey.

15 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the status of the first research participant with respect to the first target location includes a proximity of the first research participant with respect to the first target location.

16 . A method, comprising using one or more hardware processors to:

receive, from a first client application associated with a first research participant, a first type of content including a status of the first research participant with respect to a first target location;

select a second type of content based at least in part on the first type of content received from the first client application;

determine to transmit the second type of content to at least one of the first client application and a second client application associated with a research organizer based at least in part on the first type of content received from the first client application; and

transmit the second type of content to at least one of the first client application and the second client application.

17 . The method of claim 16 , further comprising using the one or more hardware processors to:

determine a time or a schedule to transmit the second type of content based on at least one of the first type of content and the second type of content; and

transmit the second type of content to at least one of the first client application and the second client application based on the transmission time or schedule.

18 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the first type of content comprises one or more of the following: social media data, geolocation data, audio, images, video, and text.

19 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the first type of content comprises one or more of the following: report of an occurrence of an event, and notification of non-compliance with one or more conditions.

20 . The method of claim 16 , further comprising using the one or more hardware processors to receive, from the first client application, one or more attributes associated with the first research participant.

21 . The method of claim 20 , wherein the one or more attributes associated with the first research participant includes one or more of the following: demographics and interests.

22 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the first client application is configured to:

provide a user interface to the first research participant; and

receive at least the first type of data from the first research participant.

23 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the first client application is further configured to associate the first type of data with a record for the first research participant.

24 . The method of claim 23 , further comprising using the one or more hardware processors to store at least a portion of the record associated with the first research participant.

25 . The method of claim 23 , further comprising using the one or more hardware processors to analyze the record associated with the first research participant and generate one or more reports.

26 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the first client application is further configured to associate the first type of data with a timestamp.

27 . The method of claim 16 , further comprising using the one or more hardware processors to select the second type of data based at least in part on a timestamp associated with the first type of data.

28 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the second type of data comprises at least one contextual message.

29 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the at least one contextual message comprises one of the following: an alert, a notification, one or more recommendations, and a survey.

30 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the status of the first research participant with respect to the first target location includes a proximity of the first research participant with respect to the first target location.
