Abstract

Compositions to treat surfaces to affect materials deposited on such surfaces and methods of treating surfaces with such compositions to affect such deposition materials.

Claims (44)

1. A surface treatment composition, comprising:

an amount of water;

an amount of 2-phosphonobutane-1,2,4 tricarboxylic acid of about 0.05 weight percent to about 0.85 weight percent;

an amount of citric acid;

an amount of L(+)-lactic acid;

an amount of gluconic acid;

an amount of capryleth-9 carboxylic acid;

an amount of lauramine oxide; and

an amount of dipropylene glycol n-propyl ether, wherein said surface treatment composition contains less than 0.1 weight percent phosphorus, and the composition has a pH of 1.0 or less.

2. The surface treatment composition of claim 1 , wherein said amount of citric acid comprises about 3.0 weight percent and about 5.0 weight percent.

3. The surface treatment composition of claim 1 , wherein said amount of L(+)-lactic acid comprises about 3.0 weight percent and about 5.0 weight percent.

4. The surface treatment composition of claim 1 , wherein said amount of gluconic acid comprises about 2.0 weight percent and about 7.5 weight percent.

5. The surface treatment composition of claim 1 , wherein said amount of capryleth-9 carboxylic acid comprises about 2.0 weight percent and about 4.0 weight percent.

6. The surface treatment composition of claim 1 , wherein said amount of lauramine oxide comprises about 0.01 weight percent and about 0.15 weight percent.

7. The surface treatment composition of claim 1 , wherein said amount of dipropylene glycol n-propyl ether comprises about 0.1 weight percent and about 1.0 weight percent.

8. The surface treatment composition of claim 1 , further comprising an amount fragrance.

9. The surface treatment composition of claim 1 , wherein

said amount of 2-phosphonobutane-1,2,4 tricarboxylic acid comprises between about 0.05 weight percent and about 0.85 weight percent;

said amount of citric acid comprises between about 3.0 weight percent and about 5.0 weight percent;

said amount of L(+)-lactic acid comprises between about 2.5 weight percent and about 4.5 weight percent;

said amount of gluconic acid comprises between about 2.5 weight percent and about 5.0 weight percent;

said amount of capryleth-9 carboxylic acid comprises between about 2.5 weight percent and about 4.5 weight percent;

said amount of lauramine oxide comprises between about 0.02 weight percent and about 0.15 weight percent; and

said amount of dipropylene glycol n-propyl ether comprises between about 0.1 weight percent and about 1.0 weight percent.

10. The surface treatment composition of claim 9 , wherein said surface treatment composition contains less than 0.1 weight percent phosphorus.

11. A surface treatment composition, comprising:

an amount of water;

an amount of 2-phosphonobutane-1,2,4 tricarboxylic acid of about 0.25 weight percent;

an amount of citric acid of about 4.0 weight percent;

an amount of L(+)-lactic acid of about 3.5 weight percent;

an amount of gluconic acid of about 5.0 weight percent;

an amount of capryleth-9 carboxylic acid of about 3.5 weight percent;

an amount of lauramine oxide of about 0.03 weight percent; and

an amount of dipropylene glycol n-propyl ether of about 0.90 weight percent.

12. A surface treatment composition, consisting of:

an amount of water;

an amount of 2-phosphonobutane-1,2,4 tricarboxylic acid of about 0.25 weight percent;

an amount of citric acid of about 4.0 weight percent;

an amount of L(+)-lactic acid of about 3.5 weight percent;

an amount of gluconic acid of about 5.0 weight percent;

an amount of capryleth-9 carboxylic acid of about 3.5 weight percent;
