TOPICAL TREATMENTS INCORPORATING CANNABIS SP. DERIVED BOTANICAL DRUG PRODUCT

1 : A topical formulation comprising a Cannabis derived botanical drug product, wherein the concentration of tetrahydrocannabinol in the topical formulation is greater than 2 milligrams per kilogram.

2 : A topical formulation according to claim 1 , which further comprises hydrocortisone or any steroid within Groups I to VII in the US classification system in a therapeutically effective amount.

3 : A topical formulation according to claim 1 , which further comprises an antibiotic compound in a therapeutically effective amount.

4 : A topical formulation according to claim 1 , which further comprises an antiseptic compound in a therapeutically effective amount.

5 : A topical formulation according to claim 1 , which further comprises an antifungal compound in a therapeutically effective amount.

6 : A topical formulation according to claim 1 , which further comprises an anti-acne agent in a therapeutically effective amount.

7 : A topical formulation according to claim 1 , which further comprises a soothing, smoothing, moisturizing or protective agent in a therapeutically effective amount.

8 : A topical formulation according to claim 1 , which further comprises a UV-absorbing compound in a therapeutically effective amount.

9 : A topical formulation according to claim 1 , which further comprises an analgesic compound in a therapeutically effective amount.

10 : A topical formulation according to claim 1 , which further comprises an anti-viral compound in a therapeutically effective amount.

11 : A method of treating a dermatological disease, which comprises applying the topical formulation according to claim 1 to skin affected with a dermatological disease.

12 : A method according to claim 11 , wherein said dermatological disease is psoriasis.

13 : A topical formulation comprising a Cannabis derived botanical drug product, wherein the concentration of cannabidiol in the topical formulation is greater than 2 milligrams per kilogram.

14 : A topical formulation according to claim 13 , which further comprises hydrocortisone or any steroid within Groups I to VII in the US classification system in a therapeutically effective amount.

15 : A topical formulation according to claim 13 , which further comprises an antibiotic compound in a therapeutically effective amount.

16 : A topical formulation according to claim 13 , which further comprises an antiseptic compound in a therapeutically effective amount.

17 : A topical formulation according to claim 13 , which further comprises an antifungal compound in a therapeutically effective amount.

18 : A topical formulation according to claim 13 , which further comprises an anti-acne agent in a therapeutically effective amount.

19 : A topical formulation according to claim 13 , which further comprises a soothing, smoothing, moisturizing or protective agent in a therapeutically effective amount.

20 : A topical formulation according to claim 13 , which further comprises a UV-absorbing compound in a therapeutically effective amount.

21 : A topical formulation according to claim 13 , which further comprises an analgesic compound in a therapeutically effective amount.

22 : A topical formulation according to claim 13 , which further comprises an anti-viral compound in a therapeutically effective amount.

23 : A method of treating a dermatological disease, which comprises applying the topical formulation according to claim 13 to skin affected with a dermatological disease.

24 : A method according to claim 23 , wherein said dermatological disease is psoriasis.

25 : A topical formulation comprising a Cannabis derived botanical drug product, wherein the concentration of each, cannabidiol and tetrahydrocannabinol, in the topical formulation is greater than 2 milligrams per kilogram.

26 : A topical formulation according to claim 25 , which further comprises hydrocortisone or any steroid within Groups I to VII in the US classification system in a therapeutically effective amount.

27 : A topical formulation according to claim 26 , which further comprises an antibiotic compound in a therapeutically effective amount.

28 : A topical formulation according to claim 26 , which further comprises an antiseptic compound in a therapeutically effective amount.

29 : A topical formulation according to claim 26 , which further comprises an antifungal compound in a therapeutically effective amount.

30 : A topical formulation according to claim 26 , which further comprises an anti-acne agent in a therapeutically effective amount.

31 : A topical formulation according to claim 26 , which further comprises a soothing, smoothing, moisturizing or protective agent in a therapeutically effective amount.

32 : A topical formulation according to claim 26 , which further comprises a UV-absorbing compound in a therapeutically effective amount.

33 : A topical formulation according to claim 26 , which further comprises an analgesic compound in a therapeutically effective amount.

34 : A topical formulation according to claim 26 , which further comprises an anti-viral compound in a therapeutically effective amount.

35 : A method of treating a dermatological disease, which comprises applying the topical formulation according to claim 26 to skin affected with a dermatological disease.

36 : A method according to claim 35 , wherein said dermatological disease is psoriasis.

37 : A topical formulation comprising a Cannabis extract and at least one member selected from the group consisting of hydrocortisone or any steroid within Groups I to VII in the US classification system; an antibiotic compound; an antiseptic compound; an antifungal compound; an anti-acne agent; a soothing, smoothing, moisturizing or protective agent; a UV-absorbing compound; an analgesic compound; and an anti-viral compound,

wherein the concentration of tetrahydrocannabinol, cannabidiol, or both in the topical formulation is greater than 2 milligrams per kilogram, wherein, when both tetrahydrocannabinol and cannabidiol are present in the topical formulation, the concentration of each of tetrahydrocannabinol and cannabidiol is greater than 2 milligrams per kilogram, and

said topical formulation obtained by dispersing the Cannabis extract in a water-in-oil emulsion, an oil-in-water emulsion, a wax-in-oil base, or an oil-in-wax base that comprises said at least one at least one member selected from the group consisting of hydrocortisone or any steroid within Groups I to VII in the US classification system; an antibiotic compound; an antiseptic compound; an antifungal compound; an anti-acne agent; a soothing, smoothing, moisturizing or protective agent; a UV-absorbing compound; an analgesic compound; and an anti-viral compound.

38 : The topical formula according to claim 37 , wherein said Cannabis extract comprises an extract of cannabis sativa or cannabis indicia.

39 : The topical formula according to claim 37 , wherein said topical formulation adjuvant is at least one member selected from the group consisting of capsaicin, benzocaine, lidocaine, camphor, benzoin resin, methylsalicate, triethanolamine salicylate, hydrocortisone, and salicylic acid.
