Abstract

An image processing apparatus includes a calculation unit configured to calculate information indicating similarity among a plurality of tomographic images, and a generation unit configured to generate a tomographic image from the plurality of tomographic images based on the calculated information indicating similarity.

Claims (24)

1. An image processing system, comprising:

a memory that stores a plurality of tomographic images acquired based on a measuring beam controlled so that a same position is scanned with the measuring beam a plurality of times; and

a processor configured to calculate a degree of similarity among partial areas which are respectively included in the plurality of tomographic images stored in the memory, configured to generate a composite image by combining a plurality of tomographic images having a calculated degree of similarity being larger than a predetermined value,

wherein

the plurality of tomographic images are acquired via a Fourier-domain optical coherence tomography apparatus, and

the processor calculates the degree of similarity among the partial areas according to translation or rotation of the plurality of tomographic images.

2. An image processing system, comprising:

a processor configured to calculate a degree of similarity of partial areas respectively included in a plurality of tomographic images with respect to a partial area of a first tomographic image, and configured to generate a composite image by combining a plurality of tomographic images having a calculated degree of similarity being larger than a predetermined value with the first tomographic image,

wherein

the first tomographic image and the plurality of tomographic images are acquired via a Fourier-domain optical coherence tomography apparatus, based on a measuring beam controlled so that a same position is scanned with the measuring beam a plurality of times, and

the processor calculates the degree of similarity of the partial areas with respect to the partial area of the first tomographic image according to translation or rotation of the plurality of tomographic images and the first tomographic image.

3. An image processing method executed by a computer, comprising:

storing, in a memory, a plurality of tomographic images being acquired based on a measuring beam controlled so that a same position is scanned with the measuring beam a plurality of times, wherein the acquisition unit is a Fourier-domain optical coherence tomography apparatus;

calculating, using a processor, a degree of similarity among partial areas which are respectively included in the plurality of tomographic images stored in the memory; and generating a composite image by combining the plurality of tomographic images having a calculated degree of similarity being larger than a predetermined value,

the processor calculates the degree of similarity among the partial areas according to translation or rotation of the plurality of tomographic images.

4. An image processing apparatus, comprising;

a memory that stores a plurality of two-dimensional tomographic images of a subject's eye acquired based on a measuring beam controlled so that a same position is scanned with the measuring beam a plurality of times; and

a processor configured to combine some of the two-dimensional tomographic images, based on a degree of similarity among partial areas which are respectively included in the plurality of two-dimensional tomographic images,

wherein the processor calculates the degree of similarity among the partial areas according to translation or rotation of the plurality of tomographic images.

5. An image processing apparatus, comprising;

a memory configured to store a plurality of two-dimensional tomographic images of a subject's eye acquired based on a measuring beam controlled so that a same position is scanned with the measuring beam a plurality of times; and

a processor configured to select some of the two-dimensional tomographic images stored in the memory, and configured to combine the two-dimensional tomographic images selected by the selection unit,

wherein the processor is configured to select some of the two-dimensional tomographic images based on a degree of similarity among partial areas which are respectively included in the plurality of two-dimensional tomographic images, and

wherein the processor calculates the degree of similarity among the partial areas according to translation or rotation of the plurality of tomographic images.
