Abstract

The present invention relates to variants of a parent albumin having altered plasma half-life compared with the parent albumin. The present invention also relates to fusion polypeptides and conjugates comprising said variant albumin.

Claims (21)

1 . A variant of albumin comprising a substitution in a position corresponding to position 500 in the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2, wherein the substitution is selected from the group consisting of K500A,C,D,E,F,G,H,I, L,M,N,Q,R,S,T,V,W, and Y, and wherein the variant has at least 90% sequence identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2.

2 . The variant of claim 1 , wherein the variant has at least 98% sequence identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2.

3 . The variant of claim 1 , wherein the variant consists of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2 with a substitution at position 500.

4 . The variant of claim 1 , wherein the substitution is K500A.

5 . The variant of claim 1 , wherein the substitution is K500C.

6 . The variant of claim 1 , wherein the substitution is K500D.

7 . The variant of claim 1 , wherein the substitution is K500E.

8 . The variant of claim 1 , wherein the substitution is K500F.

9 . The variant of claim 1 , wherein the substitution is K500G.

10 . The variant of claim 1 , wherein the substitution is K500H.

11 . The variant of claim 1 , wherein the substitution is K500I.

12 . The variant of claim 1 , wherein the substitution is K500L.

13 . The variant of claim 1 , wherein the substitution is K500M.

14 . The variant of claim 1 , wherein the substitution is K500N.

15 . The variant of claim 1 , wherein the substitution is K500Q.

16 . The variant of claim 1 , wherein the substitution is K500R.

17 . The variant of claim 1 , wherein the substitution is K500S.

18 . The variant of claim 1 , wherein the substitution is K500T.

19 . The variant of claim 1 , wherein the substitution is K500V.

20 . The variant of claim 1 , wherein the substitution is K500W.

21 . The variant of claim 1 , wherein the substitution is K500Y.
