Abstract
A compound of formula (I): can be used as a monomer for making an underwater adhesive polymer. The compound of formula (I) can be prepared using eugenol as a starting material.
Claims (6)
1. A monomer comprising the formula:
wherein:
each of R 1 and R 2 , independently, is H, or alkyl;
R 4 is H or C 1 -C 6 alkyl;
R 5 is H, or C 1 -C 6 alkyl; and
X 2 is O or S.
