Abstract

The present invention provides an apparatus for transmitting broadcast signals, an apparatus for receiving broadcast signals and methods for transmitting and receiving broadcast signals. A broadcast signal transmission apparatus includes a delivery object generator configured to divide a file into at least one delivery object corresponding to a part of the file, a signaling encoder configured to encode signaling information including metadata for the delivery object, the signaling information including real time information indicating whether the at least one delivery object is transmitted in real time via a unidirectional channel using at least one layered coding transport (LCT) packet, and a transmitter configured to transmit the at least one delivery object and the signaling information. It is possible to reduce a total time consumed for obtaining multimedia content and displaying the multimedia content for a user.

encoding data in the one or more IP packets to output data of one or more Data Pipes, and

interleaving data of a Data Pipe by a Time Interleaving (TI) block based on one or more virtual Forward Error Correction (FEC) blocks by a column-wise writing operation and a diagonal-wise reading operation,

wherein cells of the one or more virtual FEC blocks in the TI block are skipped during the diagonal-wise reading operation; and

transmitting, by a transmitter, the broadcast signal,

wherein the signaling data is transmitted through a different transmission session from the at least one delivery object.

3. A broadcast signal transmission apparatus, comprising:

a packetizer including a processor to generate a first transport packet including one or more fragments of at least one delivery object and a second transport packet including signaling data based on an ALC/LCT scheme,

wherein the first and second transport packets are carried in at least one transport session,

a header of the first transport packet includes offset information corresponding to a starting byte position of a fragment of the at least one delivery object included in the first transport packet,

the header of the first transport packet further includes Transport Object Identifier (TOI) information which is mapped to Uniform Resource Locator (URL) information for the at least one delivery object described in the signaling data,

the signaling data includes a real-time attribute representing whether the at least one delivery object transmits a real-time content, and

the header of the first transport packet further includes information related to a random access point (RAP) being included in a payload of a transport packet;
