Abstract

In an agricultural air seeder, a fluid line connection for a pneumatic distribution system, the fluid line connection including a female and male connector. The female connector has an inside diameter with an annular groove, and a discrete seal disposed within said annular groove. The male connector is positioned within the female connector, the male connector having an outside diameter sealed with the seal.

Claims (9)

1. In an agricultural air seeder, a fluid line connection for a pneumatic distribution system, said fluid line connection comprising:

a female connector having an inside diameter with an annular groove, and a separate and discrete seal disposed within said annular groove, wherein said female connector includes a bell shaped entry end;

a male connector positioned within said female connector and having an outside diameter sealed with said separate and discrete seal; and

a latch configured to retain the male connector in place within the female connector, wherein the latch includes a first end that abuts a distal end of the bell shaped entry end of the female connector, wherein the latch extends away from the female connector in a direction substantially parallel to an axis of the outside diameter of the male connector.

2. The fluid line connection of claim 1 , wherein said male connector is an end of a corresponding fluid line.

3. The fluid line connection of claim 1 , wherein said separate and discrete seal is one of: an O-ring seal; a seal with a U-shaped cross section; and a seal with a V-shaped cross section.

4. The fluid line connection of claim 1 , wherein said separate and discrete seal is an elastomeric seal.

5. The fluid line connection of claim 1 , wherein said annular groove is a rolled annular groove formed in said female connector.

6. The fluid line connection of claim 1 , wherein said latch is one of an over center-style latch.
