Abstract

The present invention relates to novel glucocorticoid compounds. The invention also relates to methods of using these compounds, the synthesis of these compounds, and to compositions and formulations comprising the glucocorticoid compounds, and uses thereof.

Claims (7)

1. A compound of

or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.

2. A pharmaceutical composition comprising the compound of claim 1 , or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or adjuvant.

3. A method of modulating the activity of a glucocorticoid receptor in a biological sample, comprising the step of contacting the glucocorticoid receptor with the compound of claim 1 , or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.

4. A method of treating or lessening the severity of an inflammatory disease in a patient, comprising the step of administering to the patient an effective amount of the compound of claim 1 , or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein the inflammatory disease is selected from asthma, arthritis, lupus, Crohn's disease, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the disease is selected from asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

6. The method of claim 5 , wherein the disease is asthma.
