Abstract

The invention relates to a liquid dispersion comprising (i) at least one growth regulator which has a solubility in vegetable oil of about 0.1 wt % or less; (ii) an organic hydrophobic carrier, preferably a vegetable oil, hydrocarbon oil or paraffin oil, or a derivative thereof; wherein the at least one growth regulator which is insoluble or unstable in water, is present in the liquid dispersion in an amount exceeding 0.1 wt %; and wherein more than 90% of the particles of said growth regulator has a particle size of between 1-7 μm; wherein the dispersion further comprises (iii) an emulsifier which stabilizes the dispersion in the organic carrier, and which causes the concentrate to be water miscible and self-emulsifying when diluted in water in a suitable dilution, such as for example a 1:50 dilution or higher dilution; wherein the dispersion is essentially water free.

Claims (36)

1. A stable liquid dispersion comprising:

a growth regulating agent consisting of a gibberellin, or a prohexadione-Ca salt dispersed in a liquid phase;

wherein more than about 90% of the growth regulating agent dispersed in the liquid phase have a particle size of between 1-7 μm;

wherein said growth regulating agent has a solubility in sunflower oil of 0.1 wt % or less at 25° C.;

wherein the liquid phase comprises vegetable oil and an emulsifier;

wherein the vegetable oil has a solubility in water of lower than about 1 g/Liter at 20° C., and a melting point of about 0° C. or lower;

wherein at least one emulsifier is non-ionic, and comprises at least one polyethoxy group,

wherein the liquid dispersion contains less than 0.4 wt % water;

wherein the amount of said growth regulating agent is present in an amount about 4 wt % or more and about 30 wt % or less;

wherein the emulsifier is present in an amount of about 10 wt. % or more to about 30 wt. % or less; and wherein the stable liquid dispersion is stable for at least 2 weeks at 54° C.

2. The stable liquid dispersion according to claim 1 , wherein the stable liquid dispersion comprises the growth regulating agent consisting of prohexadione-Ca salt, wherein the dispersion further comprises an ammonium compound and/or an acidifier.

3. The stable liquid dispersion according to claim 1 , wherein the emulsifier is non-ionic, and comprises at least one fatty acid group, at least one polyethoxy group, and at least one polyol, wherein the fatty acid and polyol may be combined in hydroxyl-fatty acid.

4. The stable liquid dispersion according to claim 1 , wherein the stable liquid dispersion further comprises at least one growth regulator, a fungicide, a anti-settling agent, an antioxidant, a bactericide, a metal compound, or another additive common in the art.

5. The stable liquid dispersion according to claim 1 , wherein the stable liquid dispersion further comprises growth regulators selected from a group consisting of ethephon and triazoles with growth regulation activity.

6. The stable liquid dispersion according to claim 1 , wherein the stable liquid dispersion further comprises at least one additive to reduce settling.

7. A water based spraying liquid suitable for spraying plants, wherein the liquid comprises water and about 4 wt % or less amount of the stable liquid dispersion according to claim 1 .

8. The spraying liquid according to claim 7 , wherein the spraying liquid further comprises at least one additional growth regulator, fungicide, metal compound, and/or one or more jasmonites.

9. The spraying liquid according to claim 7 , wherein if the growth regulator comprises prohexadione-Ca salt, the liquid further comprises at least one of an ammonium salt and a carboxylic acid.

10. A method for treating plants with at least one growth regulator, wherein a water based spraying liquid according to claim 7 is sprayed on plants in an amount of about 50 L to about 2500 L per hectare.

11. The method according to claim 10 , wherein the plants are broad acre crop.

12. The stable liquid dispersion according to claim 1 , wherein the dispersion further comprises at least one anti powdery mildew fungicide.

13. The stable liquid dispersion according to claim 12 , wherein the anti powdery mildew fungicide is selected from a group consisting of SBI fungicide, Qol fungicide and SDHI fungicide.

14. The stable liquid dispersion according to claim 1 , wherein the dispersion further comprises an anti-settling agent, wherein the anti-settling agent is clay or silica.

15. The stable liquid dispersion according to claim 1 , wherein the growth regulating agent consists of the gibberellin, and the gibberellin is gibberellic acid GA-3.

16. A stable liquid dispersion comprising:

a growth regulating agent consisting of a gibberellin, or a prohexadione-Ca salt dispersed in a liquid phase;

wherein more than about 90% of the growth regulating agent dispersed in the liquid phase have a particle size of between 1-7 μm;

wherein said growth regulating agent has a solubility in sunflower oil of 0.1 wt % or less at 25° C.;

wherein said growth regulating agent is present in the liquid phase in an amount of about 4 wt % to 30 wt %;

wherein the liquid phase comprises vegetable oil with a melting point of about 10° C. or lower, and an emulsifier;

wherein the vegetable oil has a solubility in water of lower than about 1 g/Liter at 20° C., and a melting point of about 0° C. or lower;

wherein at least one emulsifier is non-ionic, and comprises at least one polyethoxy group;
