Abstract

A video aggregation system presents video content items to multiple users. A first filter is used to filter content items from a first feed and a second feed for a first user. A second filter is used to filter content items from the first feed and the second feed for a second user.

Claims (67)

1. A video processing system to provide users personalized video content feeds from videos available on the Internet, the video processing system comprising:

one or more hardware servers;

a first service feed that:

is received by the one or more hardware servers from the Internet; and

comprises a first plurality of feed items, wherein each feed item of the first plurality of feed items includes a separately resolvable link to a content object available from the Internet;

a second service feed that:

is received by the one or more hardware servers from the Internet; and

comprises a second plurality of feed items, wherein each feed item of the second plurality of feed items includes a separately resolvable link to a content object available from the Internet; and

an aggregation system to:

apply a first filter to the first plurality of feed items and to the second plurality of feed items to generate a first selective feed, wherein:

applying the first filter removes a first feed item from the first plurality of feed items or from the second plurality of feed items so that the first feed item is not in the first selective feed; and

the first selective feed comprises one or more feed items from the first service feed and one or more feed items from the second service feed;

apply a second filter to the first plurality of feed items and to the second plurality of feed items to generate a second selective feed, wherein:

applying the second filter removes a second feed item from the first plurality of feed items or from the second plurality of feed items so that the second feed item is not in the second selective feed; and

the second selective feed comprises one or more feed items from the first service feed and one or more feed items from the second service feed;

identify a first plurality of video feed items from the first selective feed and a second plurality of video feed items from the second selective feed;

present the first plurality of video feed items from the first selective feed to a first user, such that the first user is not presented the first feed item; and

present the second plurality of video feed items from the second selective feed to a second user, such that the second user is not presented the second feed item.

2. The video processing system to provide users personalized video content feeds from videos available on the Internet as recited in claim 1 , wherein the first filter is based on viewing behavior of the first user.

3. The video processing system to provide users personalized video content feeds from videos available on the Internet as recited in claim 1 , wherein the first filter is based on a format, encoding, and/or bitrate of feed items.

4. The video processing system to provide users personalized video content feeds from videos available on the Internet as recited in claim 1 , wherein the first filter is based on a characteristic of a device of the first user.

5. The video processing system to provide users personalized video content feeds from videos available on the Internet as recited in claim 1 , wherein the first filter is based on an expressed interest of the first user.

6. The video processing system to provide users personalized video content feeds from videos available on the Internet as recited in claim 1 , wherein the first filter is based on a current or past action of the first user.

7. The video processing system to provide users personalized video content feeds from videos available on the Internet as recited in claim 1 , wherein the aggregation system:

requests a first advertisement from a first advertisement server based on a first content object of the first selective feed being provided by a first content provider; and

requests a second advertisement from a second advertisement server based on a second content object of the first selective feed being provided by a second content provider.

8. The video processing system to provide users personalized video content feeds from videos available on the Internet as recited in claim 1 , wherein the first service feed is accessed using login credentials of the first user.

9. A method to provide users personalized video content feeds from videos available on the Internet, the method comprising:

receiving a first service feed, using one or more hardware servers, wherein:

the first service feed is received from the Internet;

the first service feed comprises a first plurality of feed items; and

each feed item of the first plurality of feed items includes a separately resolvable link to a content object available from the Internet;

receiving a second service feed, using the one or more hardware servers, wherein:

the second service feed is received from the Internet;

the second service feed comprises a second plurality of feed items; and

each feed item of the second plurality of feed items includes a separately resolvable link to a content object available from the Internet;

applying a first filter, using an aggregation system, to the first plurality of feed items and to the second plurality of feed items to generate a first selective feed, wherein applying the first filter removes a first feed item from the first plurality of feed items or from the second plurality of feed items so that the first feed item is not in the first selective feed;

applying a second filter, using the aggregation system, to the first plurality of feed items and to the second plurality of feed items to generate a second selective feed, wherein applying the second filter removes a second feed item from the first plurality of feed items or from the second plurality of feed items so that the second feed item is not in the second selective feed;

identifying, using the aggregation system, a first plurality of video feed items from the first selective feed and a second plurality of video feed items from the second selective feed; and

presenting, using the aggregation system, the first plurality of video feed items from the first selective feed to a first user, such that the first user is not presented the first feed item; and

presenting, using the aggregation system, the second plurality of video feed items from the second selective feed to a second user, such that the second user is not presented the second feed item.

10. The method to provide users personalized video content feeds as recited in claim 9 , wherein the first filter is based on viewing behavior of the first user.

11. The method to provide users personalized video content feeds as recited in claim 9 , wherein the first filter is based on a format, encoding, and/or bitrate of feed items.

12. The method to provide users personalized video content feeds as recited in claim 9 , wherein the first filter is based on an expressed interest of the first user.

13. The method to provide users personalized video content feeds as recited in claim 9 , wherein the first filter is based on a current or past action of the first user.

14. The method to provide users personalized video content feeds as recited in claim 9 , wherein the method further comprises:

requesting a first advertisement from a first advertisement server based on a first content object of the first selective feed being provided by a first content provider; and

requesting a second advertisement from a second advertisement server based on a second content object of the first selective feed being provided by a second content provider.

15. The method to provide users personalized video content feeds as recited in claim 9 , wherein the first service feed is accessed using login credentials of the first user.

16. The method to provide users personalized video content feeds as recited in claim 9 , wherein the first selective feed comprises one or more separately resolvable links from the first service feed.

17. A memory device having instructions that when executed cause one or more processors to perform the following steps to provide users personalized video content feeds from videos available on the Internet:

receive a first service feed, wherein:

the first service feed is received from the Internet;

the first service feed comprises a first plurality of feed items; and

each feed item of the first plurality of feed items includes a separately resolvable link to a content object available from the Internet;

receive a second service feed, wherein:

the second service feed is received from the Internet;

the second service feed comprises a second plurality of feed items; and

each feed item of the second plurality of feed items includes a separately resolvable link to a content object available from the Internet;

apply a first filter to the first plurality of feed items and to the second plurality of feed items to generate a first selective feed, wherein applying the first filter removes a first feed item from the first plurality of feed items or from the second plurality of feed items so that the first feed item is not in the first selective feed;

apply a second filter to the first plurality of feed items and to the second plurality of feed items to generate a second selective feed, wherein applying the second filter removes a second feed item from the first plurality of feed items or from the second plurality of feed items so that the second feed item is not in the second selective feed;

identify a first plurality of video feed items from the first selective feed and a second plurality of video feed items from the second selective feed;

present the first plurality of video feed items from the first selective feed to a first user, such that the first user is not presented the first feed item; and

present the second plurality of video feed items from the second selective feed to a second user, such that the second user is not presented the second feed item.

18. The memory device having instructions as recited in claim 17 , wherein the first service feed is accessed using login credentials of the first user.

19. The memory device having instructions as recited in claim 17 , wherein the instructions further cause the one or more processors to encode a content object of the first service feed or a content object of the second service feed based on characteristics of a device of the first user.

20. The memory device having instructions as recited in claim 17 , wherein the first filter is based on a completed view, a repeated view, a like, a share, a save, and/or a search query of the first user.
