Bicyclic alkyl compounds and synthesis
Disclosed herein are compounds of the general Formula (I), and methods of synthesizing a substituted bicyclo[1.1.1]pentane using a Group VII or Group IX transition metal compound.
1. A compound having the structure of Formula (I):
wherein:
R 1 is N 3 , SCN, NO, —C(═NOR 2 )(CN), or —CH(═NOR 2 ), and
R 2 is (C 1 to C 10 ) alkoxy, substituted or unsubstituted (C 1 to C 30 ) alkyl, substituted or unsubstituted aryl, substituted or unsubstituted alkenyl, substituted or unsubstituted alkynyl, substituted or unsubstituted cycloalkyl, substituted or unsubstituted cycloalkenyl, substituted or unsubstituted cycloalkynyl, substituted or unsubstituted heterocycle, substituted or unsubstituted heteroaryl, substituted or unsubstituted aryl(alkyl), substituted or unsubstituted alkyl(aryl), or substituted or unsubstituted heteroaryl(alkyl).
2. The compound of claim 1 , wherein R 1 is N 3 , SCN, —C(═NOR 2 )(CN), or —CH(═NOR 2 ).
3. The compound of claim 1 , wherein OR 2 is carbimidoyl cyanide, carbaldehyde oxime, (benzyloxy) carbimidoyl cyanide, or carbaldehyde O-benzyl oxime.
4. The compound of claim 1 , wherein R 2 is benzyl.
