Abstract

A method for constraining a bitstream is described. In one embodiment, when a source indicator obtained from a profile tier level syntax structure is not equal to a pre-determined value, a first indication is generated.

Claims (10)

1 . A method for constraining a bitstream by an electronic device, comprising:

obtaining a message structure, wherein the message structure comprises a profile tier level syntax structure;

obtaining a source indicator from the profile tier level syntax structure;

determining whether the source indicator is equal to a pre-determined value;

and generating a first indication if the source indicator is not equal to a pre-determined value.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the message structure is a Sequence Parameter Set.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the message structure is a Video Parameter Set.

4 . The method of claim 1 , where the source indicator is a general progressive source flag.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the source indicator is a general interlaced source flag.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the source indicator is a general frame only constraint flag.
