Abstract

A system according to various exemplary embodiments includes a processor and an activity sensor, communication module, digital camera and memory coupled to the processor. The memory stores instructions that, when executed by the processor, causes the system to: generate an image via the digital camera; retrieve activity data associated with a user of the system from the activity sensor; modify the image to represent the activity data within the image; and transmit the modified image, using the communication module, to a server.

Claims (52)

1. A system comprising:

a processor;

a user interface coupled to the processor and including a display;

an activity sensor coupled to the processor;

a communication module coupled to the processor;

a digital camera coupled to the processor; and

memory coupled to the processor and storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the system to:

generate an image via the digital camera;

retrieve activity data associated with a user of the system from the activity sensor;

modify the image to represent the activity data within the image;

transmit the modified image, using the communication module, to a server; and

cause the system to present one or more of the generated image and the modified image using the display, wherein one or more of the generated image and the modified image are temporarily presented using the display for a predetermined period of time.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the user interface includes an input device and modifying the image further includes modifying the image based on edits received via the input device.

3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the memory further stores instructions for causing the system to:

retrieve a second image from the server via the communication module;

modify the second image to represent the activity data within the second image; and

transmit the modified second image to the server via the communication module.

4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the system is integrated with a wearable device, the wearable device comprising one or more of: a watch, eyeglasses, goggles, a headset, a wristband, earbuds, clothing, and a clip-on electronic device.

5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the memory further stores instructions for causing the system to:

retrieve updated activity data from the activity sensor; and

modify the image to represent the updated activity data within the image.

6. The system of claim 5 , wherein the representation of the updated activity data replaces the representation of the activity data within the image.

7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the memory further stores instructions for causing the system to:

retrieve updated activity data from the activity sensor;

create a second modified image representing the updated activity data; and

instruct the server, via the communication module, to replace the modified image with the second modified image.

8. A computer-implemented method comprising:

generating an image via a digital camera in communication with a computer system;

retrieving, by the computer system, activity data associated with a user of the computer system from an activity sensor;

modifying, by the computer system, the image to represent the activity data within the image;

transmitting, by the computer system, the modified image to a server; and

presenting one or more of the generated image and the modified image via a display coupled to the computer system, wherein one or more of the generated image and the modified image are temporarily presented using the display for a predetermined period of time.

9. The method of claim 8 , wherein modifying the image further includes modifying the image based on edits received via an input device coupled to the computer system.

10. The method of claim 8 , further comprising:

retrieving, by the computer system, a second image from the server;

modifying, by the computer system, the second image to represent the activity data within the second image; and

transmitting, by the computer system, the modified second image to the server.

11. The method of claim 8 , wherein the computer system is integrated with a wearable device, the wearable device comprising one or more of: a watch, eyeglasses, goggles, a headset, a wristband, earbuds, clothing, and a clip-on electronic device.

12. The method of claim 8 , further comprising:

retrieving, by the computer system, updated activity data from the activity sensor; and

modifying, by the computer system, the image to represent the updated activity data within the image.

13. The method of claim 12 , wherein the representation of the updated activity data replaces the representation of the activity data within the image.

14. The method of claim 8 , further comprising:

retrieving, by the computer system, updated activity data from the activity sensor;

creating, by the computer system, a second modified image representing the updated activity data; and

instructing, the server by the computer system, to replace the modified image with the second modified image.

15. A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by a computer system, cause the computer system to:

generate an image via a digital camera in communication with the computer system;

retrieve activity data associated with a user of the computer system from an activity sensor;

modify the image to represent the activity data within the image;

transmit the modified image to a server; and

present one or more of the generated image and the modified image via a display coupled to the computer system, wherein one or more of the generated image and the modified image are temporarily presented using the display for a predetermined period of time.
