Xeno-free generation of tissue-specific progenitor cells
The invention relates to purified, tissue-specific progenitors, methods of making and using such tissue-specific progenitors.
1. A cell culture composition comprising a CD14 + cell, a tissue-specific mesenchymal stem cell (MSC), and a pluripotent cell.
2. The cell culture composition of claim 1 , wherein the CD14 + cell and the MSC are syngeneic with regard to each other.
3. A cell culture composition comprising a CD14 + cell, a tissue-specific mesenchymal stem cell (MSC), a pluripotent cell, and a tissue-specific progenitor cell.
4. The composition of claim 3 , wherein the CD14 + cell is an MSC-educated macrophage.
5. The composition of claim 3 , wherein the CD14 + cell is a monocyte.
6. The composition of claim 3 , wherein the CD14 + cell and the MSC are syngeneic with respect to each other.
7. The composition of claim 3 , wherein the CD14 + cell and the MSC are allogeneic with respect to each other.
8. The composition of claim 3 , wherein the tissue specific MSC is selected from the group consisting of a cardiac-derived MSC, a pancreatic islet-derived MSC, and a bone marrow-derived MSC.
9. The composition of claim 3 , wherein the tissue-specific progenitor is selected from the group consisting of a hematopoietic progenitor, a cardiomyocyte progenitor, and a pancreatic islet progenitor.
