Abstract

An agriculture treatment solution may include one or more metal salts and a base product fluid. The base product fluid may include a molecular compound that is a chelating compound. The molecular compound may have the formula: ((NH 4 ) 2 SO 4 ) a .(H 2 SO 4 ) b .(H 2 O) c .(NH 4 HSO 4 ) x . In the formula, a may be between 1 and 5, b may be between 1 and 5, c may be between 1 and 5, and x may be between 1 and 10. The agriculture treatment solution may be formed by adding the one or more metal salts to the base product fluid and water. The agriculture treatment solution may be added to an agricultural crop to deliver at least one of the metal salts to the agricultural crop. The at least one metal salt may be a micronutrient for the agricultural crop.

Claims (41)

1. An agriculture treatment solution, comprising:

a chelating compound having the formula:

((NH 4 ) 2 SO 4 ) a .(H 2 SO 4 ) b .(H 2 O) c .(NH 4 HSO 4 )x, wherein a is between 1 and 5, b is between 1 and 5, c is between 1 and 5, and x is between 1 and 10;

one or more metal salts; and

water.

2. The solution of claim 1 , wherein the metal salt comprises a salt of zinc, magnesium, manganese, selenium, molybdenum, iron, boron, cobalt, copper, or combinations thereof.

3. The solution of claim 1 , wherein the chelating compound chelates the metal salt.

4. The solution of claim 1 , wherein the agriculture treatment solution has a pH below about 2.

5. The solution of claim 1 , wherein the chelating compound comprises an elemental composition of:

between about 3% and about 6% hydrogen;

between about 10% and about 15% nitrogen;

between about 25% and about 30% sulfur; and

between about 52% and about 60% oxygen.

6. The solution of claim 1 , wherein a is 1, b is 1, c is 1, and x is between 1 and 6.

7. The solution of claim 1 , wherein the chelating compound is hydroscopic.

8. A method for making an agriculture treatment solution, comprising:

adding one or more metal salts to a base product fluid and water, wherein the base product fluid comprises:

a chelating compound having the formula:

((NH 4 ) 2 SO 4 ) a .(H 2 SO 4 ) b .(H 2 O) c .(NH 4 HSO 4 ) x , wherein a is between 1 and 5, b is between 1 and 5, c is between 1 and 5, and x is between 1 and 10.

9. The method of claim 8 , wherein the metal salt comprises a salt of zinc, magnesium, manganese, selenium, molybdenum, iron, boron, cobalt, copper, or combinations thereof.

10. The method of claim 8 , wherein adding the metal salts to the chelating compound results in a lack of heat generation.

11. The method of claim 8 , wherein the water treatment solution has a pH below about 2.

12. The method of claim 8 , wherein the chelating compound comprises an elemental composition of:

between about 3% and about 6% hydrogen;

between about 10% and about 15% nitrogen;

between about 25% and about 30% sulfur; and

between about 52% and about 60% oxygen.

13. The method of claim 8 , wherein a is 1, b is 1, c is 1, and x is between 1 and 6.

14. The method of claim 8 , wherein the chelating compound is hydroscopic.

15. A method of treating agricultural products, comprising:

adding an agriculture treatment solution to an agricultural crop, the agriculture treatment solution comprising one or more metal salts and a chelating compound having the formula:

((NH 4 ) 2 SO 4 ) a .(H 2 SO 4 ) b .(H 2 O) c .(NH 4 HSO 4 ) x , wherein a is between 1 and 5, b is between 1 and 5, c is between 1 and 5, and x is between 1 and 10.

16. The method of claim 15 , wherein the metal salt comprises a salt of zinc, magnesium, manganese, selenium, molybdenum, iron, boron, cobalt, copper, or combinations thereof.

17. The method of claim 15 , wherein the agriculture treatment solution delivers at least one of the metal salts to the agricultural crop, the at least one metal salt comprising a micronutrient for the agricultural crop.

18. The method of claim 15 , further comprising adding the agriculture treatment solution to a herbicide, the wherein the agriculture treatment solution is an adjuvant for the herbicide.

19. The method of claim 15 , further comprising adding the agriculture treatment solution to a fertilizer, the wherein the agriculture treatment solution is an adjuvant for the fertilizer.

20. The method of claim 15 , wherein the chelating compound comprises an elemental composition of:

between about 3% and about 6% hydrogen;

between about 10% and about 15% nitrogen;

between about 25% and about 30% sulfur; and

between about 52% and about 60% oxygen.
