Abstract

Truncated triterpene saponin analogues containing a trisaccharide or tetrasaccharide ester are disclosed. Also disclosed are pharmaceutical compositions comprising truncated saponin analogues and synthetic methods of producing the truncated saponin analogues. Another aspect of the present application relates to a method for immunizing a subject, comprising administering to the subject the pharmaceutical composition comprising a minimal saponin analogue and an antigen.

Claims (6)

1. A compound having the formula:

2. A pharmaceutical composition, comprising: the compound of claim 1 , or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof; and an immunologically effective amount of an antigen.

3. A method for immunizing a subject against an infectious disease, comprising: administering to the subject the pharmaceutical composition of claim 2 .

4. A pharmaceutical composition, comprising: the compound of claim 1 , or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof; and an effective amount of a cytotoxic drug.

5. A method for enhancing the effect of a cytotoxic drug in a subject, comprising:

administering to the subject the pharmaceutical composition of claim 4 .
