Abstract

The present disclosure provides a system and method for CT image reconstruction. The method may include combining an analytic image reconstruction technique with an iterative reconstruction algorithm of CT images. The image reconstruction may be performed on or near a region of interest.

Claims (55)

1. A method implemented on a computing device having at least one processor and at least one computer-readable storage medium, the method comprising:

receiving a first set of raw data relating to a subject generated by an imaging device;

determining a first ROI in a field of view (FOV) of the imaging device;

determining a second ROI including the first ROI;

reconstructing the first set of raw data to obtain a first image on the second ROI;

obtaining a second image by zero padding the first ROI of the first image;

performing forward projection on the first image to obtain a first sinogram;

performing forward projection on the second image to obtain a second sinogram;

applying a first filter on the first sinogram to obtain a third sonogram;

subtracting the second sinogram from the third sinogram to obtain a fourth sinogram;

applying a second filter on the first set of raw data to obtain a fifth sinogram; and

performing, based on the fourth sinogram and the fifth sinogram, iterative reconstruction to generate a third image.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first set of raw data comprises sinogram data.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the reconstructing the first set of raw data comprises applying filtered back projection (FBP) on the first set of raw data.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first ROI is rectangular, and the first ROI has a first width and a first height.

5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the second ROI is rectangular, and the second ROI has a second width and a second height.

6. The method of claim 5 , wherein the ratio of the first width to the first height is the same as the second width to the second height.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first filter is a low pass filter.

8. The method of claim 7 , wherein the first filter is a Gauss filter, an atan filter, or a filter configured to provide a desired response curve in a frequency domain.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first filter and the second filter together form an all-pass filter.

10. A non-transitory computer readable medium comprising executable instructions that, when executed by at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to effectuate a method comprising:

instructions for causing a computer to implement a method, the method further comprising: receiving a first set of raw data relating to a subject generated by an imaging device;

determining a first ROI in a field of view (FOV) of the imaging device;

determining a second ROI including the first ROI;

reconstructing the first set of raw data to obtain a first image on the second ROI;

obtain a second image by zero padding the first ROI of the first image;

performing forward projection on the first image to obtain a first sinogram;

performing forward projection on the second image to obtain a second sinogram;

applying a first filter on the first sinogram to obtain a third sinogram;

subtracting the second sinogram from the third sinogram to obtain a fourth sinogram;

applying a second filter on the first set of raw data to obtain a fifth sinogram; and

performing, based on the fourth sinogram and the fifth sinogram, iterative reconstruction to generate a third image.

11. The medium of claim 10 , wherein the first set of raw data comprises sinogram data.

12. The medium of claim 10 , wherein the reconstructing the first set of raw data comprises applying filtered back projection (FBP) on the first set of raw data.

13. The medium of claim 10 , wherein the first filter is a Gauss filter, an atan filter, or a filter configured to provide a desired response curve in a frequency domain.

14. The medium of claim 10 , wherein the first filter and the second filter together form an all-pass filter.

15. A system comprising:

at least one processor, and

a storage configured to store instructions, the instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, causing the system to effectuate a method comprising:

receiving a first set of raw data relating to a subject generated by an imaging device;

determining a first ROI in a field of view (FOV) of the imaging device;

determining a second ROI including the first ROI;

reconstructing the first set of raw data to obtain a first image on the second ROI;

obtaining a second image by zero padding the first ROI of the first image;

performing forward projection on the first image to obtain a first sinogram;

performing forward projection on the second image to obtain a second sinogram;

applying a first filter on the first sinogram to obtain a third sinogram;

subtracting the second sinogram from the third sinogram to obtain a fourth sinogram;

applying a second filter on the first set of raw data to obtain a fifth sinogram; and

performing, based on the fourth sinogram and the fifth sinogram, iterative reconstruction to generate a third image.

16. The system of claim 15 , wherein the first set of raw data comprises sinogram data.

17. The system of claim 15 , wherein the reconstructing the first set of raw data comprises applying filtered back projection (FBP) on the first set of raw data.

18. The system of claim 15 , wherein the first filter is a Gauss filter, an atan filter, or a filter configured to provide a desired response curve in a frequency domain.

19. The system of claim 15 , wherein the first filter and the second filter together form an all-pass filter.

20. The system of claim 15 , wherein the first filter is a low pass filter.
